I would just to take a moment to say that there is a difference between having a favorite genre of music and having bands you like from different genres. Sure, I may like a few bands/singers from a different genre than I usually like, but that doesn't mean I should list that genre under my "favorites". I can dislike pop music in general, but I can respect and/or like a specific artist because of their voice or lyrics.
Just some thoughts for those we list off 'every genre but rap (or country)' as their "favorites".

I mostly just listen to classical and soundtracks. Mozart, John Williams, and Howard Shore are the best, I think. Not many other genres i like besides those too. Celtic and classic rock are okay, but I don't listen to them much.
