It depends, since different people have different chracteristics. For me, it's a good thing. I know how the world outside is like and I have my ways to deal with them. At the same time, I enjoy living my sheltered life.

Sheltered? Somewhat.

Well... I'm not really spoiled. Maybe more so now, but less when I was younger. I feel more over-protected--especially by means of travel. My parents have raised me to be independent and self-aware yet they highly restrict the life I lived in their house from my demands to my freedoms and responsibilities. There was never a shortage of material wants and needs at my disposal, but there was never a shortage of punishment for crossing the line either. Pretty much, I was given whatever I needed under strict boundaries.

So yes, I might have been very sheltered.

As for how I turned out. I think I'm a pretty independent, stubborn, but amiable person. I'm naive but not innocent, since I've always had an insatiable curiosity about the world. I exploded out into the social life of college freshman year, but I still have limits to what I will and will not do. I try to make all my explorations carefully and deliberately. Being sheltered, keeps you more childish in many ways; but growing still happens, just later in life. In the end, I think sheltering children less is the way to go--allowing them to take on more responsibilities and knowledge from an earlier age. It will better prepare them for what's to come.

I'm not really sheltered. I just don't like going outside. My parents are somehow protective of me but they let me do what I want.

well at a younger age i guess so, but unless ur gonna end up living with ur parents for the rest of your life.. you'll have to face the deep end some time or another lol or else when u eventually find urself in such a situation, you wont know what to do and it probably would be much stressful later rather than now when u have a safety net to fall back on (i.e your parents/guardian)

I think that shit is sad.
Shutting yourself from the world outside your home.
What kind of life would you have?
For some reason this reminds me of the Brady Bunch O_o
