My opinion is that it sucks. Whats the point . There's probably no money involved.
Why change the language when you can just add subtitles.

No really.... Did you ever think about the kids there in the Philippines? Can they read/understand much of the subtitles?
I think NO.... so, Dubs is a very good idea especially there in the Philippines because most childrens love ANIMEs very much.

D'ba?

Ur right~!

And also.. TV5 dubs better than other TV networks, right~? They really have great voices and i really LOVE it ...
even though i watch here on the net~! ^_^

But i also like ABS-CBN~! Coz GMA has some cuts on it right (i'm not sure but on their dramas... like the Korean & Taiwanese Dramas) ?

AH! And also.... would people mind to watch the anime w/ subs if they are busy?
example, Eating while watching.... You cant keep your eyes on the screen everytime you eat. you'll have to see your food once in a while.
or Reviewing/reading while watching.... many cant really understand japanese well... you can just read what you're reading then listening to the Tagalog Subs at the same time. so you can understand more....

The original Seiyuu is not a matter.... I've watched Anime's in Tagalog and English Dubs already but I still like it.... even though some dubbers exaggerate their voice but hey... at least you can understand.

One thing that I don't like in dubbing animes is that some translations are incorrect
but at least Japanese anime are being broadcast for free...

I remember watching a few Tagalog dubs including Yu-Yu Hakusho and Evangelion. They're quite interesting so to speak. Back then I didn't care much about dubbing so long as I could watch something. Now I mostly prefer subs.

I hate those Filipino dubs... subs were better than dubs...
that's why I hate tv5 for the dubs, they suck and they keep on repeating and repeating the episodes..

amen amen! i grew up with filipino dubbed animes and because of that, i learned to love anime. what really creeps me out nowadays are those little children who speak fluent english with the awkward filipino accent... makes me think that they're wanna-be's ('scuse me for the term), but when you talk to them, they don't know how to speak in filipino ;________; *heart breaks*

the target audience are mostly children...most of those children also belong to the "masses" or the poverty line who dosent doesnt go as much school...and study and understand full sentences in english...
also reading subtitle at the same time watching the actions in the screen may be difficult to others...you are kinda using your perception do things at the same time can be hard...while dubbing it, uses your sense of hearing for the sounds and perception in the actions well watching is much smoothly...

ABSCBN in my opinion dub animes best...i watched the filipino dub and the subtitled in english for lines comparison and so far they are loyal to the original concept of the script and dosent loose the humor and the use of words ...the other networks in the other hand sounds corny and cheesy...

hehehe
peace out!

yahh im totally agree to you ate..XD not unlike other network. it sounds horrible..lol like

sooryy to say .. like ENGLISH dub..

If I am to consider my self and only my self, I prefer subs. Sometimes, dubs, if they meet my expectations. But most of the time, subs.
But if I'll consider the "kids" who doesnt know how to read yet, and the others who have a hard time following with the subs, then dubbing is a right choice.
