I HATE ANY KINDS OF DUBS!

I don't really get why they can't just add subtitles. It sounds gayish when they change the language.

so that you don't need to read the subtitles because there's no subtitles...ehehe
if the anime was translated into tagalog, the Filipino like me will watch only, hear clearly what the characters are saying...
that way we are comfortable watching anime....unlike if it's has only subtitles we will read then watch so sometimes we are uncomfortable because when we read we don't see some of that characters action.....

it's much better if the anime/movie that you're watching has the same language like your language right...?!!that's it... wushooo

the target audience are mostly children...most of those children also belong to the "masses" or the poverty line who dosent doesnt go as much school...and study and understand full sentences in english...
also reading subtitle at the same time watching the actions in the screen may be difficult to others...you are kinda using your perception do things at the same time can be hard...while dubbing it, uses your sense of hearing for the sounds and perception in the actions well watching is much smoothly...

ABSCBN in my opinion dub animes best...i watched the filipino dub and the subtitled in english for lines comparison and so far they are loyal to the original concept of the script and dosent loose the humor and the use of words ...the other networks in the other hand sounds corny and cheesy...

hehehe
peace out!

i agreed

even that i don't understand to much tagalog
that just reasonable for the audience, well philippines
is not a rich country and poverty is one of it's top problem
not many children go to school there. filipino dub bing is just way
for them to make easy ways understanding the anime
as far as i know they like it on dub even if the actors in dub change
the charater a bit

Like you, I think the dubbers of ABSCBN are currently the best. I like how they dub cinderella, akazukin chacha (the first dub mind you), btx, evangelion and even samurai x.

In my opinion, anime being dubbed in another language is needed. I myself even have a hard time watching subbed anime whenever they are talking too fast or that I want to closely watch the scenes instead of reading. Just think about other people who reads slower than me, for example the children. I guess what I am trying to point out is, I started liking anime when I was a child and that is when those dubbed animes are released, I think as a child, if it's not dubbed and I have to read the subtitles all the time, I wouldn't even consider liking it since it would be like studying when you should be enjoying.

I got nothing against animes dubbed in Filipino but I wish they try to get the translations right; get a good cast of voice characters that can project their voices naturally and not as if they are acting in a Shakespeare play; and if they are going to dub an anime, they better dub the ones that haven't been translated into English yet.

I've been collection anime series and movies that catches my attention, most are dual language, and I noticed that some of the animes shown on TV or Cable are already in my video library about 3 months or even over a year before it's aired, and most of it is already in English, so why do they have to translate it in Filipino if it's already available in English? What's the point of having translators in their payroll if even a 5th grader can do the same job if it's already in English?

They should try dubbing animes that are still in Japanese rather than something that is already translated in a language that can be understood by the majority of viewers. Besides, English is part of every school curriculum so it's almost like the children are studying without them realizing it and TV is a good tool for teaching, just as much as any book. And also, there are some English teachers here that just can't speak straight or even fluently in English. I know because I had a teacher just like that when I was in 4th grade. It's hard to learn anything if the one teaching you doesn't even know the difference between words like found and pound; or bat and butt.

Dubs are uncomfortable at all... Especially when the voice actor mistakes some pronunciations..

When I watched the first episodes of Naruto in Tagalog, I heard Sakura said 'Sa-soo-ke', it pissed me off... geezz :

I prefer Dubs than subtitle because if you are just reading you can't see all the scene you are focusing on tyhe subtitles
