Do you hate it when they change the charaters to younger or older actors in the next series of Dramas? Like the Actors before were good. . . now they change the charaters to more younger or older ones to make it seem fitting. Why can't they just use the same actors. I say changing the charaters in Drama's series is a bad thing, it makes viewers very confused. What are some movies that do that.
Ex:: One dissappointing one that I watched in Canada was "Home Alone" there are 4 series, the first two they use the same charaters which was very good actors, but than in the next 3rd and 4th series they changed the characters to more younger ones, just because the last actors were getting too old, and it gets really dissapointing to not see them grow up. {Check it out- "Home Alone" }

In They Kissed Again, Zhi Shu's younger brother changed from chubby and cute to an older skinny guy with glasses. Still cute in a way though.

yeah i totally agree with you. i really liked the chubby brother and it was kinda weird seeing the other actor halfway through the drama.

yes...i do hate it when characters change into a younger or older..it somehow changes the mood while watching & i think i would still go for the original casts of the drama i'm watching rather than having the characters changed in the next episode..

also, i think that sometimes the real reason why we are watching drama series is because of it's casts that we like & wanna see..so it would be annoying & dissappointing if they'll just make the character into a younger & older version all of a sudden..then sometimes it'll make the story boring and ends in not finishing the series..

Sometimes it is okay to change characters if the storyline and the plot requires it to be like that. For example, in the twilight series, Taylor Lautner won't be playing Jacob anymore becuase it would not stay true to the book because Jacob has to grow up and be bigger and stronger-looking and of course the actor Taylor won't grow up like that in a year so they would have to look for another actor that would suit the role's character better. If the storyline emphasizes getting old or progression, then it is okay. If the storyline requires consistency of being always looking young, then it is justifiable to EITHER use make-up/prosthetics for younger look of the current actors or replace them with similar looking but younger ones.

It is only not appropriate if the storyline won't be justified and if they are replacing the actor out of the caprices of the producers without looking at the storyline or plot.

It depends if they show flashbacks or future scenes. But for sequels I want the original cast for continuity's sake.
