hmmm you named almost all the mangas am reading with bad ass characters. Well here are some that I know of:
-Cage Of Eden(Sengoku is too brave)
-Beelzebub (Oga is a demon )
-The Breaker/The Breaker:New Waves ( 2 protagonists: The Dragon of the Nine Arts (Second main protagonist for first season) is bad ass from the beginning. At first shioon (Main protagonist for both seasons) may seem like the kid that is always bully but he changes. He changes like around chapter 20 in the first season.)

Gintama -
Gintoki Sakata (will kick your ass with his wooden sword while making a joke about his crotch)

Toshizo Hijikata (will chop off your head while smoking a cigarette and eat a bowl of rice topped with mayo afterwards)

Sogo Okita - (Might kill you with his sword, might lure you into an S&M game where he breaks you, give you hope then kills you, just to kill a few hours before his favorite show comes on)

Sengoku Basara -

Masamune Date (One eyed dragon of Oshu who fights using 6 swords and tells his men to but their guns on before riding into battle on a horse that has exhaust pipes on it)

Yukimura Sanada (the best guy to call who uses a double spear and gives pretty good speeches before, during and after fights. And seems able to not resist going into battle shirtless and avoids getting impaled from the lack of upper body protection)

Hakuoki -

Toshizo Hijikata (For being the Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi and not going bald over the stress that the job entails, being able to kill a demon when he's only a human and still looks bad-ass after being shot)

Souji Okita (Has killed the most people along with Saito Hajime, will kill anyone for Kondou's sake, cut a guy's head clean off, cut another guy's arm off and impales a guy's heart all in the same fight, three different guys though. Kills a horde of 20-30 guys who were coming to kill Hijikata and dies in the process due to his illness using up his life force)

Everyone else in the show isn't bad-ass except for Sannan-san, Saito, Heisuke and Harada. (Kondou earned the bad-ass mark in the season 2, but before that was kinda lame.)

Sword Art Online

Kirito (Beater, nuff said)

Asuna (For being one of the leaders of the lead groups. That was not an easy joy to get.)

I can't beleive no one mentioned Revi from Black Lagoon, probably one of the most bad-ass female characters out there.
