hes not on the picture... XD its just the girl and her class graduating... no discrimination and such... that means she wasnt left out... so the girl lives happily ever after.. lol...

what i dont get is... i thought the girl died soon after coming back from the future when she saw the man having the bracelet on his hand.. but when the guy came back it was like few hours/days, and it was night after the graduation... and shes still alive.. idk... it sounds more confusing now..

he was in the pic.. right next to her... just with a diff hair cut.. he time traveled back to a time before the girl even found out bout the secret.. remember the rule that you must play the piece more rapidly in order to go back in time? since he thought that he's about to lose time with all the demolition going on, he played the piece so fast so much so that he went back a little further back in time... that's why when he went into the past, she doesn't even recognize him, and why she's still alive... then he chose not to go back to the future to stay with her, even if it meant living 20 years earlier... as long as she's with him, he's happy...

This is the RIGHT answer by the way. Just to clear things up. LOLzzzz, I watched the movie the 2nd time to make the movie a bit clearer for me. (X

This explains the lines in the booklet of the "Secret" piano piece about the "Hasty keys" and the speed the girl was talking about.

And yes, in the last scene Jay Chou was in fact the guy in the picture together with the girl. Because why would they zoom the picture like that if it wasn't JayChou and the girl. It's just that they have a different haircut.

just wanted to be more detailed.. i think that xiao yu is not the only person that can see xiang lun, since in the picture the one beside him has given him the space to be seen in the picture.. if you watch it carefully and analyze it, when he finish playing the piece there is a drop of blood that touched the piano before being demolished completely.. maybe that's why everyone can see him in the past.. and since the piano was destroyed even if xiang lun wanted to go back in present time he can't because the piano will not be in that room again..

again you must be really critical about this movie.. as i have said in the last picture shown by the movie the student gave him space which means that xiang lun can be seen by everyone because if xiao yu is the only person who can see him then why bother giving a space in the picture to a person only who only exists for one person (xiao yu)..

mind if i ask you.. if ever you were a student in that said picture would you give a space to a person you can't see? so that's settles the ending pretty much..

of course this is only my opinion.. if you have any other ideas or theories i am willing to accept them..

Right. So, if you play the piano and drop your blood on it when you finish, you bend the rule of 'At first sight marks one's destiny'.

And if you play fast enough, you can go to the past a little more by about a year or so.

That would mean XiaoYu can appear at varying time instead of exactly 20 years later, right? Secret manuscript did not state what bpm a person must play to go to future or return to past. And i doubt XiaoYu can be very exact with her bpm.

Then again, maybe the piano have mind reading ability, and can sense what time the person wish to go to. Hmm, interesting. That would mean XiaoYu always wish for 20 years difference, while Xianglun wished for a 21 years difference?

Why can't they explain...

you can look at it this way..

but i think that once you are a pianist you have control on your speed, which means that every time that xiao yu returns to her real time she plays it in a speed she definitely knows..

well if you did know teachers say that xiao yu was an exceptional pianist, that means she's quite gifted in playing the piano..

as for xiang lun, he played the piano faster than xiao yu that's why he went back in time earlier than the usual..

There's a difference when you travel from the past to the future and when you travel from the future to the past. She was seen by only one person when she traveled because she basically went from one dimension to the other, since her world and the future world were two parallel words. When he traveled, however, the future world ceased to exist because the only reason why they existed at the same time(both the past and the future worlds) is because of them, the girl and him, and when they met in the past, the future world ceased to exist and they built a new future from then on. It's pretty simple, actually.

I loved this movie very much.

i dont think you posted the correct response to this forum.. it says to interpret the ending.. not to give explanation to time traveling..

It is an interpretation of the ending. I'm only explaining why he's in the picture in the end and why he can be seen by other people as well as the girl.

i see..

but you should consider "playing the piano" with the time traveling.. not just explaining the parallel worlds..

I haven no idea what you're saying, but I was sort of answering to a few posts because the most confusing thing about the ending seemed to be the fact that he was in the picture at the end and that he was seen by the other students as well so following that logic I concentrated on explaining that part. The piano part doesn't need much explaining, does it.
