Keep in mind I've only watched 3 episodes:

I'm going to think of this anime as 2 sheets(stands for 2 worlds) of clear paper with a drawing of taku on both of them. The bottom sheet is worldA and the top sheet is worldB. When the two sheets are split they look like 2 of the same drawings. But the longer they are split apart the more they change (when he goes onto the computer), even the time. There may be new characters drawn in on 1 sheet while the other sheet does not know or have them. Once the two combine so that the takus aline he gets the memories of both sheets. But once he goes into imagination (like when he first meets a girl and the screen gets all fuzzy, then his mind acts up) he's like in a different world. And he gets those memories of an event from worldB , but in worldA it never happens.

As for his image bluring and him getting memories from worldB, here's on of the times it happens (it happens a lot in just 3 episodes). Episode 3 - 18:20. That's one of many times, of what I believe, he gets his memories from worldB, even though it never happened in worldA. So it's like there is 2 takus at work playing with 2 worlds combining and recombining them so weird things happen.

That's my metahpor/prediction of what is really going on. Tell me if I'm close Maybe I'm thinking too hard

Oooh. Nice guess. I actually wouldn't have thought of something like that. ^_^

Buuuut.. You are off by a lot. Seriously, make sure you wear a helmet for the rest of the series, cause it'll blow your mind.

What a well thought out prediction, but wouldn't saying spilt personality disorder be much simplier ??

Like the previous guy mention your off by a lot, nevertheless your prediction was decently well thought out .

Yeah... I finished. I wasn't very pleased with such a simple explanation And when they were talking about how the brain works in episode 9ish was completely fictional. All about dopamine and random facts to make it seem like they know what they're talking about. And the ending was quiet.. short and ended in the boring "I'm in love with you" ending. It got really corny and I was going to drop it, but it was only 12 episodes so, why not?
First 6 were ingenious, next 6 were what I expected.
Oh well... better luck next time in the psychoactive horrors. On to the next anime on my giant "to watch" list, which is... Darker than Black. Sounds scary

Yeah I kind of agree with the whole lameness thing of this show it was like, the first four or five episodes were amazingly great and then when I saw episode 7 I was thinking this is getting lame, and well as far as I'm convinced it went down hill from episode 7. This show had so many great promises and it just disappointed me.

Trust me Darker than Black is no where near the horror genre. Its filled with lots of jam packed mind boggling fighting scenes.
