i have come to realize that every climax has its turning point. every good site will eventually be commercialized once they hits. nevertheless, i would like to say thank you for all these years. Now, i will have to move forward to another ideal site for me.

I still remember when Shinji reply to my messages and chat once in a while with me. I love Crunchyroll so much. It bring me so many joyfull memories. I remember checking one by one all the clip that I used to watch when I was a kid. and thinking." Ahh this site is a keeper. I don't have to rush to watch it." Regret always come latter right?! Since everything are gone. or almost. Well I still come here to check how things going on. but yeah. pretty much nothing. I want to believe too, that one day Crunchyroll will be better, and hopefully we can get to watch everything back. not just to read the descirption of the movie, which I can get at Wiki. Anyway... thank's ^_^

Hello my name is nytechyld,

i'm sorry for having to intrude on this forum but i don't have the "500 CR points" to start a new forum so i am left with posting on the several that are out there.

this is very hard for me to write. but, i feel i need to inform those here who knew Scott (Silentwalker1 or what ever his name was here) that he passed away this morning after having a seizure and heart attack. i am now having to relay to everyone about the loss one of the most wonderful people i have ever met in life. i just lost my best friend and am not too sure how life is going to be. to those who knew him well, i know there is going to be a hole that will never be filled. you are welcome to contact me at twistedchyld@hotmail.com

thank you very much...be well and safe.

c~

This is an actual chart from the website www.ALEXA.com which monitors site traffic or CR over the last 6 months.......

a REVOLUTION?????? I sure dont think so.... I have looked at many many sites and as far as i can tell CR traffic right now is as low if not lower than the first few months CR opened...... the vast majority of the CR fanbase has left... CR claims to be a fanbase site... but nearly all of those fans of CR were fans cuz it was the best place nearly anything...... CR boasts that it has more than 150 shows streaming legally... well most of those anime have already been released for quite along time and most ppl have already seen them...... CR's decision to go in this direction has clearly had an impact on its fanbase.......

AS I SAID BEFORE.... THIS IS AN ACTUAL CHART FROM ALEXA.COM.... WHICH IS A SITE THAT MONITORS WEBSITE TRAFFIC...

even if you are an idiot you can tell that CR isnt having a good time lately........

recently fansubs have been releasing DVD quality fansubs from Hi Def streams... which....... sad to say....... are higher quality than these legit streams from CR which you have to PAY for to watch hours after release....

usually fansubs are out just hours after these are broadcasted anyway so paying money to watch company subs which....(and most would agree) are far less quality than fansubs......makes no sense... especially since CR blocks many many regions to ppl who have even paid membership not even knowing this........

most pll dont realize that CR makes a very good profit off of this so donating doesnt account to this..

think about it... why would major anime companies even make it worth their while to stream on CR if it didnt make a huge profit.......

CR users are being deceived into thinking a few dallors make a difference when CR makes LOTS of money.........

ANYWAYS HERES THE CHART

anyways...... enough of my ranting......................

Looking back at 2008, Crunchyroll has come such a long way. When I started this website two years ago, my goal was to share anime and Asian videos with my friends and make them fans. I never thought it would grow to be one of the biggest Asian entertainment sites touching MILLIONS of ppl everyday (and that's all thanks to you guys!) I've met so many great ppl on CR and I bump into a lot of ppl that discovered anime through CR and that always motivates me to make CR better.

Going into 2009, CR is going through some more changes. I know that change can be little frustrating sometimes, but I promise that we're doing everything we can to make the site better. Sometimes it's not very obvious the reason behind some things, but there are good reasons that I'll try to share. Ever since I realized CR's potential, I wanted it to be a place where everyone benefited including fans and creators. But it's taken a lot of time and work to reach out to the publishers to show them what CR has to offer and I've always respected their work if they requested it be removed. I know this has been frustrating for some of you, but it's been necessary for CR to continue and to build stronger relationships with the publishers to release their work directly onto CR. We now have over 25 publisher partners putting content up and we'll have over 130 titles come January! =D

We've made a lot of progress working with the publishers with some great shows coming in January (like Naruto Shippuden!! and many more), but there's still more to do! And much of the user-uploaded fansubs have been holding us back because it doesn't have the creator's permission So for CR to really break through and stay around forever, we are going to have to stop user uploads and take down any unauthorized uploads. This means that only official publishers will be able to upload. But it also means that the videos will be uploaded very quickly, the video quality will be great, and the creators will make money so they can support themselves to make more new stuff. So your support of CR by joining the Anime Membership, you'll be helping the anime industry survive This way, we'll be able to get a lot more good shows on CR.

I know this is a big change, but I ask for your patience and faith in CR as I work to bring all the great shows here first! I truly believe this is the right thing to do so that eventually CR will be the only place you need to go to And you guys will all be part of the Crunchyroll revolution! I'll have a lot more announcements to make in the upcoming weeks (and btw, we're not ignoring the dramas either . But please check out the Anime Membership offering – this will give you earlier access and HD quality streams! I have a feeling that 2009 is going to be a great year and a great milestone for CR. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

cool i am on it

See a revolution is usually when the people decides that somethings not good and they need to change that (usually theres a lot of blood involved), however a revolution is not when you are getting your ass pounded by corporations. That's named commercialism.

I became a star member in support of this revolution. It's been great so far.

I just stumbled across these worthwhile websites and thought I would share:

Those of you whom would rather purchase just raw legal Japanese videos individually, rather then subscribe monthly here at crunchyroll, can take a look at the Japanese Biglobe Video Store. They have a much wider selection of videos, including dramas, that can be purchased and downloaded with windows media player. Or you can go to Biglobe Stream, where you can find free legal streams of tons of videos (with advertisements), as long as you're using Internet Explorer.

And a side note to all of those manga enthusiasts: legal digital Japanese manga can be bought at the Japanese site eBookJapan.
