No wonder Goong was made into a Korean drama -_- I usually can start a manhwa, but I can never finish it because it just turns completely soap-opera-ish and I just can't stand it after that happens. I'm only still reading Goong because I finished the drama (and liked the ending, btw), and besides that... I can't finish Hot-Blooded Woman or Cutey Boy.

Come to think of it, the art gets on my nerves, too. Way too girly. I'd actually prefer the Japanese big-cutsey-eyes to the Korean huge-eyelashes-puffy-lips-fashion-model style.

I did like GOONG the drama better than the manhwa
but I have to say that Hot-Blooded Woman is so annoying
I prefered like Masca or My Girl, they're cute
I also prefer the Japanese style of drawing but sometimes Korean people try to be more realistic.. (trust me, i know... i have a mom artist.... >.>)

Korean people try to be more realistic? Somehow, I seriously doubt it. Just putting extreme eyelashes and puffy puffy lips doesn't make art realistic. You want realism, then try some high-quality Japanese seinen like Cesare or Kami no Shizuku.

I have found at least two Korean series that I actually like. I hate the art of Vanilla Ice, but it's pretty hysterical. And I really liked H2O, because it was actually partially believable and the art style was actually kind of nice.

I've actually only read a couple of korean mangas and the extremely short list includes Goong and One Thousand and One Nights. But from what I've read I've liked.

I don't see a major difference between Korean and Japanese manga. The stories might be somewhat different to reflect each nation's unique culture, but the art really isn't that much different. I just like manga in general. It doesn't have to come from Japan, just like hip hop doesn't have to come from america. BTW Dorothy of Oz is quite popular here in the USA. My little brother thinks it's from Japan, but I know it's not.

I love Goong a lot, I managed to read over 100 chapters in 3 days

and I haven't even watched the drama, but I found this manhwa really funny and it's different from manga in the way it's drawn. Also Korean traditions and history is quite interesting

I accept Korean just as I accept Japanese manga, the only difficulty is remembering who's name is what, they always have complicated names >< I remember Kill Me Kiss Me, I got so lost on names by the end of the book, it was hard to tell who they were talking about at times.
