Lately, we see a certain member here in CR who promotes the fact that watching subbed anime is illegal, and doing so violates many laws, Not to mention promoting CR's latest features which allow you to watch subbed anime one hour after it hits Japan in exchange, getting an anime membership that makes you pay for watching anime, So let's make it clear:

1)For starters, It is indeed true that watching anime is against the law, our dear friend DomFortress clearly pointed that out that is against many laws to do so, but nevertheless, Is it really wrong? What makes it different from what CR is offering next year? Other than breaking laws that are hardly being reinforced, None, the good side of watching subbed anime is that you watch it for free, and just a few hours after it gets released in Japan(I'm referring to the anime this season), Unlike what CR has to offer in which you do get to see an anime that gets released 1 hour after it is showed in Japan but you have to pay a hefty price for it.

2)Morally bankrupt? No, There is a reason why the alignment "Chaotic Good" exists, Watching subbed anime doesn't make you bad like what certain people here in CR say, In fact, It all depends upon you, Why should we deprived of anime when the Japanese can get it for free? Was Shinji or DomFortress(Who, ironically, is a former fansubber) paid a hefty price just to change sides? Do we have to wait weeks just to watch the anime we love when we can watch it now? No my friend, We can always watch subbed anime and still buy the DVD when it comes out, In the end, Watching subbed anime doesn't make you morally bankrupt, It's your decisions and actions that point out if you are morally bankrupt and if you are the type of persons that don't give a damn about the anime industry, I do in my own way by buying anime DVDs i like when it comes out or buying my favorite manga even if i already seen or read it, You should too.

Bottom line is, CR is choosing this so-called memberships not to give us the best anime, But merely the common and mainstream ones, If this policy does continue, Great anime like To Aru Majutsu no Index, Ga-Rei-Zero, Kannagi & other latest anime that comes out will never come out here in CR(though i have to say, Shugo Chara is a decent choice, Tower of Druaga's manga is still superior over anime nevertheless), So if you believe that subbed anime should be free and should be seen right away, Not a few weeks later, Say no for the this so called anime membership!

In regards to the second statement I would agree that if you do plan to purchase said anime series upon its release on dvd than yeah you are not being a dick. I think the problem is that so many people do not pay for their anime they just turn to streaming sites and torrents with out any regard as to how much it is costing the studios. Now don't get me wrong I am in no way bashing crunchyroll and similar sites, because come the switch the anime companies will be seeing some returns through advertisement and a larger audience. And its not like any of the anime studios (As far as I know), are large propaganda spewing entity's like America has (Fox for example) I would say it is more "Chaotic Good" to download from these types of companies than those in Japan making anime. And for the last statement yeah I am with you on the lack of titles that match my tastes but they still have yet to release the names of many other anime series they will be streaming come the switch in January.

Morally corrupt, ah no, it doesn't make us morally corrupt. The world and society is morally corrupt so what are morals anymore anyway. I mean look around us, wars are pooping up and intensifying, the rape and devastation in African. Watching subbed anime is a speck of dust in comparison to that. The anime industry can still function and make a profit, although smaller, while subbing continues. Frankly I don't care about this membership thing. I won't get it because I have no money and I like my computer spyware free. There are things far more morally corrupt going on around us than fansubs. It is selfish to take something for yourself or indulge in something like fansub anime but it's not moral corrupt and it won't disappear.

That's face it. Life is disgusting. Morals are disgusting. People are disgusting.

Hey - I dont like whats happening to CR, mainly coz I live in a country where 98% of the shows wont be accessible, but its a free world. They have the right to do what they want to their own site and we have the right to go to another site or start one of our own for that matter.
What isnt right is getting on to a CR forum and insulting the owners - its going into someone elses house and condemning ...
