Ren is a much better character. He has a great background, talent, looks, character. Plus, he is so clueless about his own feelings. Sho is more like a pesky brother. (By the way, if you haven't already read the manga, it is a good way to continue. This anime has been stalled for almost four years now. I really hope a second season comes but in the meantime it can't hurt to read ahead a bit.)

if you like the character of a mature, calm, powerful, cool, handsome, hot, elegant, wild 'when it comes to his personal', so Ren is the best choice.
if you like the character of the beautiful, childish, playboy, impatient, youthfull, rock, arrogant, idealistic, so Sho best choice.
because I like the character of the first person so I prefer Ren
