I am not saying that we shouldn't help people. But we need to stabilize and help ourselvs first. Countries are not people. They are governments that run people. From a international point of veiw how many countries are focusing on making someone elses country better then their own? America should focus on Americans. We pay the taxes, we should get first dibs on jobs.

FOX news isn't so accurate.

I think not allowing other people (mainly different races) causes conflict to other countries because -of being human with pride- will think that its because of racism. I'm not saying that it's bad or good. It's just this illegal immigration problems COULD cause major conflicts.

No offense, but it's really not long. Should take 2 minutes? Hell, I didn't even waste my time reading it. You shouldn't care either.

Also, I think the ban is great... I'm sorry Mexico seems like a bad country to you. You're not in a civil war. You're not in anything THAT serious, yet they still leave for the free world of America. We say it's illegal, and we don't like it. But those people still want to illegally get through like the ass holes they are. It's a tough life there, but you're not doing anything to make your country better besides moving away. I think we need to secure the border too.... >.<... They need to stop coming.

well if the U.S helped mexico in turning its economy around it could create more jobs in mexico resulting in less illegal aliens.

not US's job...

I agree the US is not the mom of the world...and if we did do anything then ppl would complain that its none of our business

Okay, I would like to say that this thread is not dedicated to Fox news and it’s accuracies. In any case I never meant to say it was not bias. I never meant to say it was 100% accurate. And no, it’s not my only source for information. However, it is what introduced me to the subject. Look over the website and search through various so other sources and you will find that most of what Fox says is true.

Whatever, this thread is not about that. Anyway, I’m kind of busy today so I have to make this quick for now.

America is not responsible for Mexico. Even if we tried to boost their economy it would only lead to further political disunity and unrest in our own territory. There are still many things within our own nation we need to fix up before we go and start bothering with the repairs of other nations. Mexico’s poverty is none of our concern. Besides, if we are going to try and run the entire world, our charity should first fall on Sub-Sahara Africa. They bring a new meaning to squalor, plague, and poverty.

One other thing I would like to point out is that not -all- illegal aliens are Mexican. Let’s try not to racially profile here.

Erm, as far as literature goes there is this book… What was it called? I read it last year… The Good Earth… No, I dunno. I’ll find it and suggest it, because it really gives you a good view of the other side.

As far as me being stuck up, yes, I most likely am. However, other individuals here who have expressed similar opinions as me are certainly not. Digs, for example. I don’t think it’s completely fair to judge him so swiftly. Digs, being the closest buddy I have on CR, has conversed with me in depth via-private messages. I guarantee you there’s nary a humbler Crer. Ahoj, you said you don’t live here, so you don’t understand the situation completely. Please don’t make judgment calls off of novels. Until you’ve actually experienced the pull of Charybdis you don’t comprehend how powerful the chasm really is. Eventually it will expand and we’ll be forced to face off with Scylla or fall into the pit. In other words, we’re eventually going to have to do something drastic… If we don’t, it’s bye-bye America.

Shoot, I have little time left, forgive me for rushing but I’ve got a hectic schedule today and I’m just on lunch break so…

As long as businesses don't give illeagal immigrants incredibly low wages and treat them fairly, then they should be able to hire immigrants. As for America in general helping immigrants, I just have one thing to say. Tax dollars are collect to help people. Just becasue your money is going to someone from a different country, it doesn't change what your money does at all. Give help to the people who need it, you know? And I really don't want yuppies saying "oh, but they're causing taxes to raise a lot." Selfish idiots like that shouldn't have any say in what happens to their money. Instead of hoping their money goes to their freakin' "Gold-plated textbook" funds for their schools, maybe they should be worrying about getting food to starving people! Selfishness like that drives me insane!!

Excuse me, but I'll quote myself here

I know I don't live where you guys live, you still sound very stuck up to me, so I suggest you read this book. I'm not really into the author, but I thought it gave me a good idea of the situation. Both sides. Here's the wicki article:

Okay, I should have said some of you guys, sorry for generalizing. But about the rest, I can't remember passing any judgement and I didn't claim to know your situation, because I read a book about it. I said I think it gave me an idea what it's like over there. And by mentioning "both sides" I was trying to point out that I'm rather neutral about this and that I understand both points of view. However being stuck up about something doesn't help anything and since I know that I don't know enough about this to make my own statement, I referred to this book. I didn't even like it. But it combined both points of view.About the Scylla and Charybdis thing, I get your point, but you guys are not exactly starving, are you?

uhm yeah American taxes are to help americans not criminals who sneak into our country, if any one is selfish they are...If they are starving then its up to their country to figure the s out not for americans to put up outsiders

and thats why ppl have fundraisers so ppl who can afford to give to the needy from other countries do, or just ppl who choose too...and yeah but I would think my childrens education is more important then supporting people who break the law

^Do I really have to remind you that you were the outsiders in the first place. What are they teaching you in history lessons? I'm sorry but you're 17 and sound like an 95 year old hag. " If they're starving it's up to their country to figure the s out"...yuck.

im 19 not 17 and Actually no I'm part Native American so no I'm not an outsider...and it doesn't matter me and any decendant of slaves are LEGAL...

anything else?

and the part you quoted and "yucked" really impacted me...(''/), I was referring to his last line, if you come to this country illegally and your starving why should that be tax paying citizen problems we already have ppl here legally who are starving that deserve our attention, charity starts at home (^_^)

so I wasnt referring to other poor countries, even though I have other opinions about how much ppl should actually help, prolonging their death doesnt do much...

people who like to put blinders on the reality of the world are Yuck to me...and I've never met an old person that said "s no"

Okay, 19 then. You still sound 95. Meaning you sound as stuck up and rigid as . I don't get what you're saying. Descendants of slaves? I wasn't referring to black people, but to all those who conquered america. You guys (you U.S.A. citizens)are LEGAL, because at some point you took over the land and decided to be LEGAL. If being born somewhere makes you LEGAL, then why are you surprised others take the same route? I'm not saying that's good or even justified, just be aware you're making it too easy for yourself when you're tossing around the word "outsider".

Edit: I'll take the "yuck" back still.
