i think the cop did exactly what was right, and coming from me, thats like the pope shouting blasphemy on the streets of the vatican.

well, first off, even if that lady's father did have a heartattack, what the fuck is she going to do there at the hospital anyways? odds are she will wait about 2-3 hours in the waiting room before getting to see him.

then, if she was obviously going too fast, that is on the level of "douchebag". I know people getting pulled over for going 75 on a 65 mph road. People could seriously be injured, you know?

finally, she resisted arrest. anybody with any sense knows that that is the worst thing to do. cops are so used to getting their way, that if there was the slightest flaw in their Great Plan, they would get all pissy. trust me, i know.

and seriously, that was the cop's job. If that lady had gotten in a accident while going to the hospital, she would've been in the hospital bed right next to her father, and the person she hit couldve died

What an idealist... If PO would actually pull over for EVERYONE who goes over a mile, they would need more than 10x the force to do that.

Sad to say, but some cops really don't give a damn in a the world. A prime example is Chicago because everyday there are killings but not all of them get caught. The PO rather let the gangs kill themselves than doing it themselves.

I don't know about laws, but we do influence a lot of the laws.

oh, so just because a cop cant catch a killer, means that he doesnt care about his job? is that what youre saying? you're the one condemning an idealist, so think about your own words before opening your mouth

I've seen people who shot infront of cops, and the cop just drove away without radioing for backup. Remember that I said "some." Some is a small amount btw. If you think all cops are good guy, think again please.

Sometimes it is wrong to blame it on the police officer. It is either they are to soft or to hard... just make up your mind already

YES, runing into a gun fight between gangs is VERY SMART. No thank, I won't try to be the hero.

Well.. both the cop and the lady was wrong. The cop could've done something to calm her down or let her see her father and then leave.. but he surpervises so she won't get away..
The could've tried telling him a lot of times and tell him the story maybe?? Or give him ideas of what's happening?? Maybe it'll turn out a bit better.. I think.
If she got to see her father she could've cooperated better with the cop so everybody's happy. Aiya..

My father was on the force. I asked him this question when i saw this thread....
he said that the cop had did the right thing... she could of killed somebody!

I think the police officer was right in trying to stop the woman as she was obviously in a highly emotional state and mixing that with a car is a very dangerous thing. The woman was a danger not only to people around her she was also a danger to herself. Saying that the police office did deserve a suspension because he could have handled the situation far better than he did.

ok.. the cop was unempathetic to her plight...
I mean yeah she was speeding, but how many times has a cop asked me (after pulling me over for speeding) "is there some emergency?" Basically asking for a reason why i;'m going 90 in a 65 or whatever..
So cops are supposed to help if there's an emergency, i mean yeah the girl was fucked up.. she didn't listen to him, and she was just plain freaking out.
so the situation was already out of hand when the cop pulled her over.

Does the cop deserve to get fired? no... does he deserve better training? maybe get his ass of the street? yes.
