Question #1: What do you think of censorship made by American Companies

Don't expect my writing skills to be all that great on the internet, may.

(assuming this in regards to animated programs produced with in Japan)

I feel that the level of censorship American companies place on anime is, for the most part, unnecessary. It appears the more censorship they place on a program the more outraged the fan base becomes and the less profit the company makes off of it. For one they have to spend the money the perform the, what they refer to as "necessary edits" on the programs and this it's self makes it less desirable for the fan base to watch hence counterproductive. Uncut DVDs are a good alternative, but by the time they hit the market most, I want to take a few liberties and say, hardcore anime fans would have already downloaded it off the internet or seen it on the internet. However we cannot solely blame the companies for these edits, we must consider the U.S.A.'s laws on what can be shown on what channels at what times and of course, sometimes, these edits are made out of desperation so the program will fit within its allotted time slot.

From a personal view-point, I'd say that the companies would make more money by making as few edits as possible to the original program, though there are too many BS laws in America to allow that to be broadcast on normal TV

Question #3: Do you believe Hentai is worst than Porn?

No. Real porn involving real people is by far worse than hentai only for the obvious that the ones involved in the porn exist somewhere in the world. Hentai is only a depiction, and exaggerated on albeit, of human sexual nature showing whatever is demanded and allowing people their fantasies without involving any less than willing partakers. This being fictional means it is free to explore things that are off limits in real life affairs keeping some individuals fetishes in check preventing them from manifesting into negative traits in that individual, however it can have the opposite effect as well. It should also be noted that statistically countries with less restriction on merchandise with explicit content have lower rates rape and violent sexual crimes.

and for my amusement
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**

As a personal opinion real porn is just sad unless it's in real life in real time, otherwise you’re just playing some other person's game who is fucking for pay or just for the satisfaction that someone out there is watching them fuck and getting off to it.

Question #1: What do you think of censorship made by American Companies?

What do i think of American censorship!? I think its bullshit! they edit out all the cool stuff and turn the anime into crap. InDBZ, they edited out some of the violence and blood in some scenes. Ya that makes perfect sense, editing out action from an action anime. It makes as much sense as taking nudity out of pornography. like whats the point Oh and the word HELL was edited to HFIL

In OP, Sanji's cigarette became a lollipop. Ok, So WTF were they thinking. Characters in American movies, and tv series smoke on screen all the time. so all of a sudden a cartoon character cant smoke...

In Yu-Gi-Oh, they edited out all guns. so when the goons points at ppl with a gun, it turns into a ridiculous scene where they just kinda point at ppl with their finger.

This is probably because of all those American soccer moms that apparently blame all their child's problem on the government, society, and TV. They are all like "my son is violent cus he watched an uncensored anime" or "omg my son will become a gangster cus he saw ppl use guns in a cartoon". when was the last time 1 of those women wake up and say "you know what, i will stop whining, blaming and bitching and start actually doing some parenting" The point is, if you don't want ur children being exposed to something, then forbid them to watch those shows. instead of ruining it for every1

Question #4: What do you think about Nationalizing Internet over all America?

courruptable idea, more taxing non-tangible things out of greed.

bad news for the Omish

Question #5: What do you think about Crunchyroll's Anime Membership?

In these economic times they are mearly trying to maximize profits, the fact is anime is a buisness, although many prefer fansubs over offical subs those offical subs need to be bought by someone so the seires stays in broadcast. It's a bold move economic wise and will mos tlikly be the death of some fansubbing groups.

Question #6: What kind of subtitle do you like better? One that keeps Japanese Honorifics or Absolute English Translation

Depends on the situation, some honorifics are simple untranslateable, such as "chama" a mixture of "chan" (ment to enphasizes small, child, or just as a form of endearment) and "sama" (a person of much greater status or importance to oneself). Where as chan chould be subbed as "little" that would make for odd situations when combined with sama.

the subbing group Live-eviL is a good example of going back and forth betwen the two approches.
