Milk does get as cold as water and soda if you check it with a thermometer but it doesnt taste as cold as water and soda because milk contains fat solids. We perceive solids as less cold than liquids. Taste experts refer to this phenomenon as "mouth feel".

you can actually run a test for you to see for yourselves try putting a pint of premium high-butterfat icecream in the freezer along with a pint of low-fat or non-fat frozen yogurt you will notice that the yogurt will taste colder than the icecream..

or you can just try it with a milk and water/soda..

no..

unlike water.. milk has lots of things in it and it takes longer for it to freeze cos of these..

take ice cream for example.. when u buy it from the store its reeeally frozen.. rock solid.

and when u take it home and put it in the freezer, it melts.

its cos of its (ice cream) contents and that the fridge's freezer isnt below Zero.. and its not enough to keep the ice cream solid..

uh.. i suck at explainin things.. did u understand what i said..?

Milk contains a few substances. A pure sunstance has a fixed melting point. A mixed substance melts over a range of temperatures. Shit, I'm confused myself.

I can't tell the difference in temperature, maybe it's because my fridge is one of those super high tech ones that you can only get in the beyond section...
