I'm korean living in america and to be honest
I haven't heard any of them through radio, tv, or anything
there are millions and billions of TALENTED people in America
so even if you're a famous singer in Korea it doesn't matter in US

But I think Boa,Rain, or any other Koreans that are trying for US market is
slowly preparing steps for next generation of Korean singers!
They might be taking baby steps right now, but when they come back and teach
the next generation valuable lessons they learned in US
There's a big chance for Korean singers to have successful career in US later in the future
So this is not bad at all that some of them are at least trying! and they do try very hard.

I give all of them props for trying, it takes so much effort to be there
and start all new...not to mention they have to master a foreign language!
So good luck to all of them!!

1. rain is a big laugh to everyone. his first movie received a lot of negative comments and his crappy engrish doesn't help at all.
2. how many times already se7en cancels his album launch? and the only song we are hearing is 'them girls'. just come back to korea and stop making fun of yourself, okay?
3. son dam bi is likely to be just like her sunbaes. FAIL. the movie that she co-stars is copying jessica alba's 'honey'. unless there's timbaland or michael jackson takes the lead role, this movie is going nowhere.
4. boa is just another korean that likes to daydream. who looks at the dancing chart? and i think, only asian fans are supporting her. no use boa comes to america, but only her asian fans hear her music.

so for now, let's stop daydreaming that any kpop stars will make it big there

You get the point right. Well, I don't want say something bad about them, cuz I'll be really happy if they could make it big, but for me it seems that they are just daydreaming like you said (I really like your comment, you are the best).

Me too, because I think American taste is like more manly, but Asian is more like something cute with all the colourful clothes and accessories. Even Big Bang, I find them really cute, so acting gangsterish???? yeah, you're right, it must be a joke!!!!!!!

Nope.... dunno about what's gonna happen in the future, but as of now, koreans are definitely not making a mark in the american music industry.... lots of failures.... as many above me have emphasized.

Hmm, I dont know about that. But, the recent attempts were a total failure. I dont think America is ready for the korean wave. Not until Big Bang makes a debut. I think Big Bang caters to the western listeners. Im a big big big fan of Western pop/hip hop. Big Bang might just make it to the hollywood scene.

a big plus with BB too is that most of them speaks english, and i have never heard the other one's mess english up too badly... also i think americans will relate more to their music style than any other in k-pop (:-) basically, i agree that they might make it if they tried)

I feel that American's, when it comes to entertainment purposes, are biased towards Asians.
I think it would be hard for ppl like Boa, Rain, and se7en to succeed.
Especially, in becoming mainstream in music.
If that happens Kudos to them.
