korean wave...hmmm

although i am korean and all, i think thats still far ahead.
all those korean actors/singers you listed did appear in US charts and movies, but
not enough impact or attention to actually start a korean wave or even like an asian wave in hollywood
or in the music industry.

just wait for BIGBANG to come along ><

i know right
Big Bang is going to tae the world by a storm
hwaiting Big Bang

Hmm, I dont know about that. But, the recent attempts were a total failure. I dont think America is ready for the korean wave. Not until Big Bang makes a debut. I think Big Bang caters to the western listeners. Im a big big big fan of Western pop/hip hop. Big Bang might just make it to the hollywood scene.

a big plus with BB too is that most of them speaks english, and i have never heard the other one's mess english up too badly... also i think americans will relate more to their music style than any other in k-pop (:-) basically, i agree that they might make it if they tried)

They do speak in English but they need to practice it a lot more. They still have heavy accents. So, if they debut in America with their accents, they might get laughed at. But, they can totally master English. Theyre not that bad to begin with. They know what theyre talkin about. Its just the accent.

But seriously though, Big Bang can definitely steal the hollywood scene. Sad to say, Kwon leader will be the only one debuting in America this '09. I was hoping other members could debut as well. Im a big fan of Ji Yong and I think hes amazing. He writes songs. He arranges them. He sings them. He raps them. He dances with it. But its not Big Bang if the other members arent there.

One of the reason english music is so popular around the world is because it is in english!
There's only a minority who listens to songs in languages they don't understand. So if someone wants to make it big globally, they better start selling their product in english. You can dub movies, animes and tv shows, but you cannot dub a song.

lol seems like alot of ppl are rooting for big bang ahhaha
as much as im a huge HUGE fan of BIG BANG
and yes im waiting for that time to come but then who knows when....
but i think big bang got to conquer asia first than they should move west...
i know they have already but they still have more to cover.....
even though at first i really wanted them to come to america to take it all
but now that i look at it...not just yet...not just yet!!!....but i will be waitin for them...
like wat they said they still have a WHOLE LOT to learn.......even though they know alot already.......
which i think that goes to alot of ppl too.......
and big bang coming to america?!?! yes they are but they are not debuting
they are just coming here to study while GD is getting help with his album...
but i wont be surprise if they have concerts....!!! kekeke now i cant wait for that!

to some of the artist/actors/actress that was listed.......i think they did alright not so bad not so bad
as much as rain got many bad reviews i got to say give him credits for doing that stuff.....but yes when he left korea he seemed to went down hill alot...but now that he is back seems like he is getting his spot back...i think he should of stay in korea a bit longer and not have rushed in so much.....

and boa....eh not a big fan of hers but she is getting there.....but i so not feeling her new song at all!!! so i highly doubt it i just hope she comes with better songs.....and i think she got top 100 cause of so many ppl wondering how great she was.........

and se7en as much as i love this man like heck!! eh...im starting to kinda fade for him i mean im tired of hearing his album being postpone and all... i understand that they want it to make it the best but they need to plan a date and set it at that .....maybe have it like months ahead or something........and a heads up to ppl so they know who to be mad at......ppl.. YG is not in charge of his album in the u.s. so dont be mad at him be mad at like DARK CHILD who is in charge....yg just kinda get the heads up of wats going on and all....

as for sondambi ....she's really pretty love her music.... but uh.....i just hope that she dont make a fool out of herself.....so good luck to her.....

and so yes the talk about americans being bias (i know here it goes) towards asian in the entertainment industry is really hard....and harsh...so good luck getting there.....i mean many of the asian actors and actress and artists and all around as much as they are around in the entertainment industry they dont get much fame....no matter how hard they have done their best they dont get much talked about....unless lol its something bad........but other wise talking about success yes they did it but recognition is not as big...

.but i hope that soon in the near future that stupid america can see wat we asians can rock out like the rest.......i say all those who has gotten up there gave their best....and is trying their hardest...so i wish them the best....seriously gotta give them credits for that though...

ah separating them like that is just wrong! they should debut as a group-- you're right it has to be the five of them.. i'm still trying to tell them apart and attach names to the faces hehe (i'm a new big bang fan- known about them for a while, but just recently give in to temptation and started listening-- i waited a while because i knew once i listen to their songs i'll get hooked :-)
my bestfriend is tutoring a korean girl, and she said it's really hard for them to get rid of their accent when speaking english-- there are some words/letters that are new to them that they don't really have in the korean language
for me, just as long as i understand what they're talking about.. i'm fine with passable english-- they'll get better the more they speak it :-)

Im a relatively new fan as well. Btw, Kwon leader and Ji Yong is the same person. He's known for his stage name, G-Dragon. He's the leader.

Anyway, That is also the problem why Korean artists are struggling to make it big in America. Their accents are way too heavy. Americans can't really appreciate the music if they dont know what the hell other people are talkin about. Well, for some I guess. I think they need American natives or people who are good in English to tutor them. If Ji Yong can surpass that problem, he's good to go. I really think Big Bang can make it, though. They already sound western in my opinion. Its like Chingy crossed Timberlake cross Chris Brown. Haha!

why add the last sentence? :-) ah, i knew them by stage names only as of right now (takes me a while w/ real names hehe)- really like g-dragon tho (him and top are my fav)... it's even better to know that he takes charge of his own music :-) i'll definitely support him when he gets here! :-)

GD is not debuting, they are coming here so he can work on his solo korean album. GD,Taeyang, and TOP are all having solo albums coming out this year. So their coming here to get help from YG producers in L.A. and also for a two month vacation to learn more english and dance from American experts.

o__o the only famous asians i've ever heard of in America are martial art masters (Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li..maybe Zhang Ziyi...)
does Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park and Fort Minor) count?

i wish the koreans (and other asians) lots of luck in making it big in USA entertainment
