1. rain is a big laugh to everyone. his first movie received a lot of negative comments and his crappy engrish doesn't help at all.
2. how many times already se7en cancels his album launch? and the only song we are hearing is 'them girls'. just come back to korea and stop making fun of yourself, okay?
3. son dam bi is likely to be just like her sunbaes. FAIL. the movie that she co-stars is copying jessica alba's 'honey'. unless there's timbaland or michael jackson takes the lead role, this movie is going nowhere.
4. boa is just another korean that likes to daydream. who looks at the dancing chart? and i think, only asian fans are supporting her. no use boa comes to america, but only her asian fans hear her music.

so for now, let's stop daydreaming that any kpop stars will make it big there

You get the point right. Well, I don't want say something bad about them, cuz I'll be really happy if they could make it big, but for me it seems that they are just daydreaming like you said (I really like your comment, you are the best).

lol. thanks

i don't think Big Bang would do so well... ( i do like their music..but...) i fear no one will be interested cause well.... try to act --what is that word--- ghetto?? gangster-ish?? but their too dressy...as in their style might not match the taste of those here in america...and boy bands aren't that big any more....
Boa... i have not even herd about her...wasn't she suppose to be on MTV or something...?? did anyone watch that?? --shes still not making a dent well she is it's just not big enough... --FIGHTING!!--
Rain.... i think his time and a fame is slowly going down....i do love the guy but... i'm starting to forget i hope his movie Ninja Asassin would be good.. FIGHTING!!!
lucky -Se7en- i hope your MV with Lil Kim goes well .... i hope to see it on MTV or VH1`or something... --FIGHTING!!!--
these asian artist are having it hard...but atleast if they fail they know they tried and can go back to their home base with the many fans who love them
Good luck to all ...

agree

Me too, because I think American taste is like more manly, but Asian is more like something cute with all the colourful clothes and accessories. Even Big Bang, I find them really cute, so acting gangsterish???? yeah, you're right, it must be a joke!!!!!!!

and plus you don't see many RnB artist wearing skinny jeans..hahahahaha....though i do love the asian kpop stars wearing skinny jeans...it is made for them

U know thats not alot of impact 1 korean out of 100
it depends if they stay there
but i dout that there is a whole lots of new coming singer that only needs a year to become a huge star
so dont worry about korean having a huge impact on the USA it wont be long till they are gone
even though io like them

Im a relatively new fan as well. Btw, Kwon leader and Ji Yong is the same person. He's known for his stage name, G-Dragon. He's the leader.

Anyway, That is also the problem why Korean artists are struggling to make it big in America. Their accents are way too heavy. Americans can't really appreciate the music if they dont know what the hell other people are talkin about. Well, for some I guess. I think they need American natives or people who are good in English to tutor them. If Ji Yong can surpass that problem, he's good to go. I really think Big Bang can make it, though. They already sound western in my opinion. Its like Chingy crossed Timberlake cross Chris Brown. Haha!

There are some artists/groups that have been popular in America despite their accents [ex:Tokio Hotel] so I don't think it has much to do with that. Its simply the fact that there aren't any well known asian singers in America. Americans haven't really been exposed to any asian singers so its a new idea for them.

it's harder to be famous in the U.S with music cuz of the taste and style of americans from asians, since americans don't have long lasting boy bands. Ex: nysync/ backstreet boys
Another is their accent u have to be really good at english when it comes to singing that is why it is easier to be an actor like jet li or jackie chan cuz they are famous over here becuz of their skills also some of the4 chinese movies are making it big over here like hero/house of flying daggars/ curse fo the golden flower/ kunfu hustle
I think the chinese is a little closer reaching the U.S than koreans movie wise, but not music wise
hopefully korea will change that like how their dramas have taken a huge impact in asia

I cannot foresee the Korean wave in the international music scene any time soon [yet!]. But yeah, it's not impossible! I agree that Big Bang can make it big in the US because of their good enunciation. I haven't heard them speak in straight English, but judging from their songs especially "With U," I feel that they can speak English well enough. I'm more of a DBSK fan than a Big Bang fan but I admit that Big Bang is way way better when it comes to the English language than DBSK :tears:

Oh god yeah. I love WG but I'm not sure about their next move. Did you hear about Bae Yong Joon working on a drama for them to be shown in the states? Ridiculous! lol
