yep. but larcensiel did came and sex lmachineguns too didn't they?

I am slightly offended that you called L'arc~en~Ciel and Sex Machineguns boy bands. They are rock/metal bands, a FAR cry from a boy band.

On topic though: the whole boy band pop phase has died in America starting from the early 2000s. Now it's that Fall Out Boy pop rock stuff that's in. So if DBSK picked up instruments and stuff they'd probably be popular, and had solely English songs. Or else they'll be rallied to a novelty act that's only for Asiaphile fangirls.

i didn't call them boys band. what i wanted to say is that jp music already went to usa ears and if it wasn't boys band that would come one day. proof: some bands (larucu x smg) went already. boys bands are a matter of time .

Honestly, I don't think they'll make it.
Plus, the music industry in America don't really go for the whole "boyband" concept thing anymore.
Solo artists... maybe... BoA's doing well here I assume?
& Se7en did too...

I'd rather they stay in Asia... & come here for just some concerts or w/e...
Take Korean artists that come here for the KBowl [;

They have. Dir en grey semi-regularly tours in the United States. MUCC, D'espairsRay, and The Underneath toured on Taste of Chaos.

But, the rest are relegated to anime conventions, like our dear GAROOGAMESH (girugamesh) at Sakura-Con. And Vamps was just in Los Angeles doing a show.

Also, Japanese bands, Asian bands in general, only appeal to a certain sector of the American market. And this sector barely even makes up 1% of the entire US population. So to most bands it's not a good investment to tour in America. I know with at least VK bands they tend to tour in Europe, because for some reason the market for rock music is much better than in America.

I was seriously just about to say the same exact thing. WHOA ARE YOU A MIND READER?! XD

and yeah, I've showed a few of my friends the Korean/Japanese boy bands that I'm into and a lot of the time they just laugh or say "This would be pretty good if it was in English and I could actually understand it." and I'm like.. uhh its the fact that it's in another language that makes it better XD

My opinion: Asian bands should stay in Asia. 'nuff said.
