Wait a minute I'm really confused here...

They don't really tell you anything in this show at all. They don't explain why the fox or the wolf like the main character, they tell you all this stuff but don't explain any of it at all. It's annoying, I mean the show is hilarious but they don't give you a rational explanation to anything. Like why are the two girls so obsessed with the main character, better yet what makes him so special, why does he live alone? All sorts of questions like this that I ask but nothing is explained. I've watched 7 episodes of this show and still no explanations, so I have to ask here... What the hell is going on in this show?

I'm just ASSUMING this, but I think Kouta lives alone because his parents died since he refers to them as "mom and dad in heaven" so I guess he was living with his grandpa in the country up to the start of the series where I would guess there was no high school so he had to go live by himself in the city to attend high school (which some high school students in Japan do). Nozomu likes Kouta since he paid for all those ribs she ate I guess...maybe kuz it was nice of him...? I dunno...And I guess Chizuru likes him kuz he's so innocent...I think she said she liked that about him at one point...and I guess he's special since he can do that thing where he combines with Chizuru to become powerful...I dunno...But almost every anime series has plot holes, so there's really no sense in questioning them...

Also the characters in the manga are way better and more understandable in the manga, for instance, Kouta is not a constantly whining bitch, Chizuru is not a super slut, also the brother of Chizuru is a very short tempered person, who is not blood related to Chizuru and also has a sort of crush on Chizuru. So after reading the Manga and comparing it to this show, the show (IMO) sucks. Also I just wanted to say on a side note, you should always question plot holes and problems with stuff like this, because if you always leave stuff like that alone and not complain a little bit, then the writers of shows like that will never learn and keep making mistakes and annoyances like that. I'm not trying to be rude or anything because I do appreciate the response, but it's important to always question stuff like this. |

Yeah, I know, but I usually always read the mangas first and then watch the show, so I understand it better. And I also agree that the Kanokon manga is a helluva lot better than the show. |

yeah it's like the show and the manga are only related based on having similar characters and the same main plot, that's all they really share.

yeah, generally short animes consisting of only 12 episodes like Kanokon or Sekirei are very loosely based off the mangas and aren't as good as them. In some cases in animes like FLCL or Cowboy Bebop however the manga came out after the anime and the mangas are loosely based off the animes and thus pail in comparison.
In short, whichever one comes out first is going to be better |

I just finished watching the 12 eps. This is a very kawaii show. Chizuru is a cute girl with a problem - she's part fox, over 400 years old and still in high school. With that going on she meets a boy who is a latent inukami and falls for him. The ecchi stuff gets in the way for the most part. The story really doesn't need it ..
@Rezzy64 - they don't explain the wolf, fox , weasel spirit stuff because the writers believe that you already have a basic knowledge of Japanese mythology. If you don't then you will be lost - forever. Trying doing a little research on the web and fill in your base. A lot of anime plots and situations are rooted in mythology, knowing about it will increase your enjoyment of anime in general. |
