I don't enjoy watching or playing soccer as much as football. If you're physically strong and have played both sports, you'll understand why a guy with testosterone would like American football more. Almost every play deals with hitting, tackling, pushing, hurting the other person. And nothing is more fun than smashing another guy in the ribs when you're pumped full of aggressive energy. omg I want to play today...

Anyway, the only team I follow is S. Korea during World Cups.

Yeah go wear you armour and all that crap. You think you're hardcore? You'll understand why a guy with testosterone would like ENGLISH football and Rugby more. Almost every play deals with hitting, tacking, pushing, hurting the ball or the person.

Who the hell is talking about Rugby? I compared football to American football. It's people in the world that try to make an argument and try to insult other countries that make everyone else argue about it more. So, if you can bring rugby into it although rugby was never mentioned....

yea. Go play with your ball and regular people. Gladiators used to kill each other until there was only one side alive. Bla bla. Let's just mention anything that's more violent and dangerous.

Calm down both of you. zurital, I understand what you're saying, same with tobydiah. Basically what Toby is trying to say is that he prefers more aggressive sports like american football specifically more. What zurital is trying to say is that association football also has violent moments. Zurital is also trying to say that people in England who like more violent sports lean towards rugby and that in his opinion it is a more violent sport.

Bottomline:

Zurital, don't bitch about how you think toby has got it all wrong.

Toby, you said "Let's just mention anything that's more violent and dangerous". Well technically, that was originally what you did. Be careful, or people will think you're slightly hypocritical. And try not to 'big up' american football on a thread that is about association football. Although the title says "not shitty american football", that doesn't mean everyone on the thread thinks that american football isn't their cup of tea! If you want to talk about "which is better", make your own thread!

And I'm not taking a side here, I'm just saying- make another thread or stfu- both of you.

Funnily enough, Nottingham Forest (the team I support) was originally founded by shinty players.

I don't watch their matches normally, I don't check on updates, I barely know any of the players' names and so on...

But if I had to pick one it would be Liverpool.

Well, you're not a mod so I won't stfu because some random person wanted to reply as well. If you notice, most people post in threads and add in comments and opinions that go a little beyond the main question as well. I like association football and stated my favorite team then added in my enjoyment of playing American football to encourage anyone who hasn't to try it as well. I didn't bash association football nor even mentioned rugby once. So, my post was pretty generic and shouldn't have offended anyone normal. If someone makes a valid answer and opinion in 2-3 sentences, I don't see a problem. But you're going to have to expect a response if the other person actually attacks your opinion for no valid reason.

You went a little too off topic. Zurital ideally should have said "why does it just have to be american football". And it doesn't matter that you didn't mention Rugby. You still compared a given sport to a way different sport that had nothing to do with this thread, and basically glorified your sport when you could have gone on a "what is your favourite sport" thread and done that. Fair dues, zurital did go over the top, but he mentioned a different sport (exactly what you did), so don't go on about how you didn't mention rugby. I just don't want this to go too far and have a full blown argument taking the thread off topic. Simple solution- don't mention other sports in the first place unless it's just a quick "but I like 'american football', 'hockey', 'basketball' etc. more".
