Any manga-based idea for a movie would just leave me wanting more; whereas, if it doesn't stay true to the manga, I'll just be annoyed. Anime movies (for Series, at least) tend to have nothing to do with the manga and just pop out random characters with no substance to them at all. With each subsequent movie, the characters just get shallower and the plot becomes painfully more average than the first movie.
