For those who don't know/care, the title says all

and if that doesn't convince otherwise:

Flower Mound, TX – December 31, 2008 – FUNimation® Entertainment today announced that it has acquired home entertainment, broadcast, digital, mobile and merchandise rights to the 51-episode action anime series Soul Eater from Media Factory.

The soul-hunting action series is directed by Takuya Igarashi (Ouran High School Host Club).

About Soul Eater
Unapologetically surreal and action-packed, Soul Eater is the tale of living weapons who team with human masters to hunt evil souls. Only after these dark forces are consumed can these partners hope to join the ranks of the famed Death Scythes.

Maka and her weapon, Soul, are among the new students at a university run by Death himself. As they learn the ways of collecting souls, this fresh class of reapers must work together to keep witches, werewolves, and zombies from unleashing evil upon the world. FUNimation Entertainment will release the series in four half-season sets beginning in late 2009.

That should be about the same time the manga should arrive as well.

I don't know about you but I for one am super duper excited about this I love this to death. It's one of the most original, creative and genius anime I have ever seen. I love how it has it's own flow of things and stuff from the plot to the characters (and just about everything else) is just outstanding. I have yet to be truly bored ever since it's release back in March of 08. And for it to come here especially by Funi is really a sign of a blessing for me. The dub should be good but if not there's always the subs that come along with the dvd .

Now I'm willing to hear your opinion/bashing

I'm fully aware of that but I feel that this should be at least be a heads up for people. Plus the fact that it's licensed was bound to happen sooner or later. Same goes for bashing.

Boohoo.

It is licensed. Get over it. |:>

It is easier now to buy the dvds, instead of getting the R2J's from certain sites.

If you don't like the dubs then just listen to the japanese audio.

/ends rant

I completly agree with you. I find it rather disgusting how most people today complain when an anime gets liscenced. Ya know I rather enjoy it cause I speak english and I like watching anime in subs and all but I speak english and I feel much more comfortable watching something in the language I grew up with. I watched all of Soul Eater and the subs go by rather quickly I have to pause to see what they are saying sometimes and it gets annoying, because I am a fan of Soul Eater I am all kinds of excited for the release. And yes there is an option on each DVD where you can change the dialouge to Japanese. So to all you non-Otaku's but Wapanese out there, yes you can still watch it in Japanese when it is liscensed, Boo hoo cry me a river that your favorite anime is making money. The anime industry is dying because of people downloading anime off the internet and not supporting it by buying it. I rather dislike people who do not support anime and claim they are an Otaku. Oh and Btw I think Wendy Powell, which is the Voice actress of Envy from FullMetal Alchemist would make a wonderful Medusa.

So what if Soul Eater had been licensed by FUNimation? Some of my favorite anime had been licensed by FUNimation and I'm not complaining.

Oooh that's a good one. Makes you wonder who they'll pick as the VA's.
