I actually came back to CR when the rumors started and was finally announced. I used to live on CR, watching 100's of episodes of Bleach, Naruto and anything else I've missed through my selective viewing process over the years. I had always downloaded my media before coming to CR. I thought CR was a great place and quickly adopted the community and their attempts to bring asian media to the English speaking populous. While I liked the concept, I still preferred to download my current anime for both quality purposes and to maintain a library of my media. I like to re-watch my favorites.

I ended up drifting away from CR before the group system started and after the IRC started dieing. Like I said though, I came back and am embracing the community and their efforts once again. I personally cannot wait to catch a glimpse of what lies beyond the horizon for CR. I hope to see all my favorite animes, both old, current and yet to air, on CR.

This is important to me, and I'll do the little things that I can to help.

I hope shinji and the crunchyroll staff do their best in 09.

Hopefully it can only get better.....

Crunchyroll has the highest quality, fastest, anime streams around.

Besides, I feel that I've been burned by so many fansubbers that I had placed my faith in, in the past, that it does nothing but pleases me to see things take place that could result in there being no further use for them.

*I know I shouldn't fault the fansub community for the acts of several fansub groups, but I can't help it.... I loath them... I loath them so much. Please die Dattebayo... please =[

cause buying a anime cd for me cost to much for a student like me but for only £30 i can support the anime industry for a year!! its very cheap compare to buying the dvd's + not only one anime but many and it will keep growing and growing as we support this ! viva CR

Kiiiim! Yey you're still around! ^-^ I think alot of the older members only use this for the community side. The problem seems to be the ones who just joined and feel like they missed out. We should give them lollypops~

I'm staying because I'm following a weekly series here (the original PreCure), and I'm hopeful that more shows I've wanted to watch will come here legally.

I'm staying because well... I'm addicted also because of the forums and the new shows coming up~

Even though most of them aren't available in my region (UK) >.<

So Anime Membership isn't really much use to me at the moment~

I haven't been watching much on here recently anyways, so it's not that big a deal for me. I may get a membership for next summer when I'm overseas again, but that will depend on what shows CR has to offer by then. More likely than not I'll just load a hard drive up with stuff.

I do like that we're dealing directly with the animation studios instead of US license holders. I used to be a big proponent of supporting the US anime industry, but nowadays I go out of my way to not support the US anime industry. The early days of the US anime-fandom did just fine with no industry support whatsoever and I would like to return to those days, especially since fansubbers now do a better job than most US companies. Cutting the US anime industry out entirely is a step in the right direction, but I liked it better when the japanese animation studios stayed on their island and cared little for what us barbaric gaijin did with their cartoons.

I think crunchyroll's move into this direction was inevitable if it wanted to continue. I always felt it was only a matter of time before it got shut down. While the selection is sorely missed, the legitimacy is necessary for CR's long term survival. Hopefully with time much of the selection will be restored and new companies will embrace this new means of distributing their product. I think this method may work since the media is still free for everyone but the option for higher quality is available. The free access is necessary to keep the traffic level high, paritcularly since most users are underage and unable to pay for memberships. The high quality option will allow for some extra money, though I'm not sure how much. If I decide to watch anime here again I'll probably get it. It strikes me as an overall good balance, though there is still plenty of work to do.

Beacuse even though alot of shows have been taken down, alot more will come. And some of the old ones might even come back. We'll just have to wait ^.^ also, I have alot of buddies here, and CR has kinda been my life since 07 and I can't just leave my life, right?

And CR is the only place where I can watch stuff legally. I always feel bad about downloading.

I'm staying because soon the movies and new movies will come back in better quality. That's what happens when you do things legally, you get QUALITY and then some. Plus, so much work goes into making these shows/movies, they deserve some legal support. They lose enough money to downloads as it is. And what happens when industries like this lose money? They can't make any more anime/asian movies. By supporting them legally, we improve their business and show that they have an audience oversees and thus making things more readily available. Sure things now are a bit tough, but I'm thinking ahead.
