What do you think CR needs to do now in order to make this revolution a good one?
Focus on getting rights in other countries?
Change the anime membership details?
Get certain shows?

Ideas and thoughts ^-^ - shinji would be gratefull!

Making stuff available everywhere is a priority. If the aim of this revolution is to stop piracy. Blocking content based on location seems to contradict those goals by leaving people no choice...

Well, people with anime memberships should get more privileges. Prices are expensive think we deserve a little bit more with it. Getting a deal allowing Pokemon to be shown here. I mean come on its been on for years now and its still airing it would bring even more people including companies here with better offers. Who doesn't love watching pokemon and the reoccuring battles that happen in each episode.

I think CR should look into getting licenced anime (the ones that they have been asked to remove) in legitimately. And working with getting unlicenced anime streamed in legally, too. It would mean paying for it, of course, but we have to do that now, to watch anime.

*Edit Shinji also needs to increase the number of fave groups we can have, since this is becoming a more social site. We can have a gazillion fave anime (and everytime someone posts ANYTHING, or even rates them, it shows up on our homepage) but we can have only 9 fave groups, and 9 fave buddies. >=l Seems a little unfair to me!

Yeah, I think they are well on their way, by securing permission to stream Naruto: Shippuuden. I can't wait to be able to watch it here!!

(Haven't watched it regularly in years, because I started reading the manga)

Well the biggest complaints seems to be that many anime shows are being blocked in certain territories. What people failed to understand is that anime studios have existing contracts with regional distributors of anime. It's a very complex issue. Plus the CR anime membership is an experiment (in fact the first time in world history that anime are legally streamed to audiences around the world), once the project gets underway I think CR would have more leverage to force the anime companies to ease licensing restrictions (or at least until their contract with their exisiting regional distirbutor expires so they can renegotiate). We're in the front row seat of a new frontier in how people watch their animes. Well I think some naysayers will leave and overreact. But I think all the true blue anime lovers will continue to stay. People just react to the same situation differently but I think most will come back once this thing settles down (it's just that some people have strong reactions to change. Change is can be painful and this is a growing pain for CR.

CR #1 priority is to expand their selection. Work with japanese animation studios to get unlicensed content. Grab new shows as they come out and scoop up oft neglected older shows.

I'd personally avoid working with US distributors at all, but it may be necessary. I'd check to see the nature of the licenses for popular shows. See when the expire, the health of the company, etc. Then work with them to bring the shows here, hopefully sans the god awful dubs these companies think are the greatest thing since sliced bread. If a show is only available dubbed, as far as I'm concerned, it's not really available.

The international distribution needs to be looked at, particularly for countries that provide the most traffic. It's the most complicated issue with no easy solution. There is no magic wand to wave since the problem isn't with the japanese animation studios or the US distributors, it's with the companies who are currently distributing anime within that country. I've heard nightmarish things about the anime distributors in Signapore, likely a heavy contributor to CR traffic.

CR needs to remember that this isn't just an anime site, it's an asian media site. They need to remember to look after dramas, other live action shows, and asian music - all of which were very popular in their own way on this site.

Yeah, I think to focus on getting rights in other countries should be his first priority, and then he should work on getting permission for all the animes, dramas, and music.

Educate. The how and why that crunchyroll is revolutionizing the anime industry can help CR users to see the importance of this movement. And I've got it all right here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/group/Anime_Columnists/forum?src=topbar
