It really depends. If you picture it this way.....The guys understand the girl's feeling, so he knows how the girl will feel, so he doesnt want the girl to be upset, so he rather prevent sumthing happening to them. That is why he is so protective of her becuzz he understand her, and dont want her to lose faith in him.
From the girl's perspective, if girls are soo protective of guys, then they really understand how the guys act, if they are sensible or strong, they either want to prevent something happening to each other.
Guys that aren't protective of their girls would be wimps. Or its either the girls decision to tell the guy not to overcome his protection over her. =)
