READ BEFORE YOU POST!!!

I'm sure most of you have realized by now that videos are removed...quite obvious, really. The reason these videos are removed is that Crunchyroll made a deal with an official anime distribution and translation company.

Never before has an anime website made a deal to show anime with approval, this could be seen as the beginning for this site along with the pioneered idea that anime could be shown with permission and without fear of it being licensed again. It eliminates the problem of removal by licensing.

However, there is always the negative side. The choice of anime is limited to what is approved by the company and what is not. At any time, the company could decide to remove a particular series and it may be required, out of fear of having all other series removed.

Feel free to debate all you want, I didn't find an exact dupe of this yet, correct me if I'm wrong.

Please don't flame; flaming is like screaming nonsense. If you want to express your opinion, back it up with reason.

I would have to say both but mainly the end. I do understand the need for regulation and approval from the anime companies to save copyrights and such. However, most of us have no other way to watch more updated episodes of the series' we love. We don't watch fansubs to piss off companies and copyright holders - we watch for the pure love of anime.

I do believe the fansubs help build popularity for the licensing decisions that American and other country companies make when select which anime to bring over. The are many that simply don't make it though. How can we view and enjoy these if we don't have such sites as this?

People will adapt, we're built that way. In a while no one will care anymore.

A majority won't anyway.

The move crunchyroll is making is a good one. But I'm afraid everyone's going to leave to other sites because they really aren't licensing that many titles that people actually watch. A few powerhouse shows like Naruto, Shugo Chara, and Skip Beat won't be enough for me or many other people to actually cough up money for a subscription.

I really hope they stay afloat long enough to amass some shows that people actually have heard of. Otherwise they'll be making the same mistake that Hulu is making by licensing all these defunct animes. (exception: naruto)
