I know that, i understand what your saying but i don't see how backing every one wait a week when thet will just watch some wheres its free, why not let opening it up on the 9th, the users with membership will still see it b4 first. I love crunchyroll i really do but the $59 is still not worth it not yet it still needs more, i would really love if Crunchyoll become the #1 source for anime

Hi Gaara429,
i know there a lot of illegal ways out there to watch Naruto =/ but those sites do not support the people who make anime. if the people who make anime does not make money, they will go out of business and no more Naruto will be made in the future... =*(

Crunchyroll is the only place online that has all the best anime and support the people who make anime. i know its difficult to wait a few more days to watch for free... but please support the anime makers and crunchyroll! i'm working my best to make it better in the future~!!

One of the reason why i came to this site was cuz of Naruto shippudden, but then it got taken off so i didn't come here a lot. Now naruto is back but if u don't don't have a membership u have to wait like a week to watch it ? IF naruto comes out on the 8th why would i wait a week to watch it when i can watch in a few hours Friday morning on another site like like around 2am on anime6.org. why would i pay $59 when i can see the ep in a few hrs and not wait a week for free. Why makes us wait a week, why not on the 9th? i think this site will just lose user this way, it would be best not just for every one but for the site if non-membership users got to watch it on the 9th

dose any one agree?

It took me a couple days of being sick at home, but I've officially seen everything that I have any interest in here at CR. The new Gintama doesn't hit for two more days and Lineb in 3. As a casual watcher who just happens to be sick at home I enjoyed the 720p on SkipBeat, but I can't see the current roster keeping many viewers around for very long.
I ran through Tower of Druaga, all the Gintama, Blassreiter (wasn't that good), Linebarrels, and Skip Beat.

i never had to pay, never will. id rather learn japanese than paying to watch a anime that has been for free. f*** those bi***es who licensed naruto lately.

I DO know Japanese and I pay. o_O
Why?
Anime were NEVER free. We just leeched of the industry for years. Finally, there's the possibility to support the creators easily. I pay them because I like what they do. I pay them because I want them to continue what they do. ( Yeah, recently there were news about producing fewer animes in the future. One reason for that seemed to be that most people recently just watch "for free" on the internet. )
And that's just one reason. There are plenty of other reasons.

Well, to anyone in Japan they were free. I'm not giving this as an excuse or anything though. I'd be more than willing to put up with commercials if they were some of the goofy Japanese ones.

Well, that's fine then. Crunchyroll gives us these 2 possibilities after all. :D

But I'd guess Japanese commercials are out of the question, although I as well like them way~ more than the usual western ones. They'd probably have no effect for the companies. The commercials would have to be subtitled as well, and even if someone wanted to buy the product, he couldn't, because most just aren't available outside of Japan D:

Concerning "in Japan they were free".... they weren't. Usually, you have to pay to watch TV. And as far as I know, a lot of the stations that broadcast a lot of anime are even Pay-TV stations.

Yeah, the commercial thing's just a pipe dream.

Hmm, its been some time since I've been in Japan, but I'm pretty sure the only station I had to pay for was NHK, and I rarely watched that. Most of the popular shows were on the main broadcast stations though, if I remember correctly. I remember watching Gintama and Bleach every week, and a very ridiculously goofy English learning program...

I've given it some thought, but its not exactly like the makers of these anime etc. are losing the money they need to keep producing more stuff by us watching it. Originally, it was all created for a Japanese audience, in Japan, correct? Even if the popularity of anime and manga is increasing overseas, the main income source is still the Japanese market, which shouldn't be effected all that severely by things like this.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying we shouldn't support the artists and companies and such, but if I were to be watching tv in Japan, I could see most anime for free. While some shows are exceptional, there are many that I wouldn't watch more than once, making paying for them seem like a waste, and if I were to like something enough to want to rewatch it,well in that situation I might be a bit more supportive.

I think I've kind of gotten twisted up in whatever it was I originally set out to say though, so I'll stop before I ramble on anymore.

Hi Gigglypuff,
it sounds like you are really thinking hard about these issues =P

you are right the anime is originally made for japan audience. however, because people are having less and less kids in japan, anime is becoming less and less profitable in japan. the companies that make anime might only break even or they might even lose a little money in japan, but they hope to make all their profit outside of japan (because at that point the cost to make the anime is mostly covered). however if they are unable to make money internationally, then they might very well cancel shows.... there used to be 100+ anime shows at any time on air in japan, now there are at most 60 or so...

i'm working very hard to bring some really good titles that people will love to rewatch... i can't say too much about it except we have some very exciting things happening soon... so say tuned~!!

Hmm, I see what you mean. I've never really paid too much attention to how the Japanese economy is doing, but it felt when I was there that dvds and cds were always ridiculously expensive, most of the time at least twice what you'd end up paying for them in the states, and sometimes with even less content. Hopefully they can achieve something good with all of this and the help of CR. I'd consider the paid membership if someone wanted to buy me a computer where the high res stuff would make any difference. Hahaha. Anyways, good luck Shinji! I'll check in from time to time to see how things are moving along, but for now, I guess I'll get back to finishing up some games I got for X-mas.

So basically those of us who are up to date with the series as is will half to wait 4-7 months to catch up, and by then the free fansubs will be 2 months ahead still!?! What happened to it being released the day it airs in japan shinji. What is my point in being 4-7 months behind track. Great so 2 months of my premium membership goes to eps i have already seen. And in 2 months it will still not be caught up to where I am at.

This is becomming just one big (WAIT FEST) Why should i wait when I can keep up to date with fansubs. Not very reasonable to say basically wait forever without watching any naruto just because you are ahead. And then do you realize how much this is like giving a recently quit smoker a ciggarette. They dont wanna smoke it but its so freaking close.

You have this SO far behind the fansubs that you urge me to go watch more fansubs because I dont know if I can wait X ammount of months just to watch where I left off. Maybe i should cancle my subscription, u should give me a refund, i will go back to being premium in 5 months when naruto is caught up... BUT WAIT!!! Once I am caught up their will be a million even newer episodes on the fansubs!!! WTH

Why the hell should paying members be so left behind the series when for free you can stay up to date. This is really stupid, it may be fine if youve never seen the new shippuden yet, but this is practically begging for people who have already seen this far ahead because naruto fans alike would have been up to date by now, at least a majority. And you dont even have the origional series!!! So everyone watchig on this site is likely to be pissed off because this obviously does no cater to naruto-newbs, and also doesnt cater to naruto-fans.

Also what happened to that HD720 sample you had for naruto, did you scratch that at the last moment and say, NO 720 FOR YOU?
I am sorry this is alot of broken promises, I dont know if I will stay, I do feel kind of ripped off, and you especially need to fix the stupid anime index because there is still thousands of animes and like 99% of them are removed, so the index is kind of impossible and confusing, which is litteraly the oposite of what an index is supposed to be.

What I dont get is why the naruto series has to be so far behind the fansubs. Naruto is a good series but not letting us be up to date would push people back to fansubs dont you think. Also I thought you said naruto episodes would be released the day they air in japan, and in 720 quality, are there still plans for 720p?

So my question is, why shouldnt I feel ripped off after I joining because I could support naruto and watch one of my fav series, only to find out that it is like 5 months behind. I cannot wait 5 months just to be up to date. Even if I waited that long the fansubs would just be 5 months ahead by then. That is really pushing against a wall, Even if it is good quality, whats the point if they are all episodes that a majority of the fans have already seen.

IMO it is a huge waste of money to pay by the month when something wont actually give you your moneys worth for 5 months to come, especially if you have the lure of fansubs always up to date. Well like I said, naruto is a good series, but its not $$$THAT good.

I have to agree and disagree.Sure it's a great show and its creators deserve money for it, but 60 bucks a year?
that is way to steep, 20$ sure but 60$ is outrageous.
That's more than HBO and the like and it's only 1 weekly show.
