Eeerr... there are a lot of parents hammer their religions to their kids [in a very tender age]; and kids follow those religions as a mean of being obedient to their parents.
Some of them grow up and happily accept what were given to them, while others start to question their religions.

Not to mention, there are people who are not susceptible to changes due to old age.
You can't just tell your grandpa, who's a chronic smoker, to quit smoking. He'll just heckle at you and say, "I grew up doing this! You're just my grandson! Shut the hell up!"

So it's perfectly fine for people to be ignorant as long as they were thought to be that way? You must love racism.

I did not say that. Stop putting words into my mouth, you miserable man. You're just fixated to just being right.

If you could re-read my post again, I wrote, "... while others start to question their religions."
I added some pointers that you haven't mentioned, that's all.

The Old Testament also spoke of a huge flood and an ark that could support two of every animal and not sink.

Cain's wife came out of nowhere, since Adam and Eve were the only people.

Slavery is obviously okay, since Paul said so.

Not cutting your hair, not drinking wine, and not touching dead bodies obviously gives you superpowers, since Samson brought down two pillars.

Incest is socially acceptable.

To any religious woman who believes in God (you know the one I'm talking about) I bring to you Genesis 3:16

3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

LOL quoting the old testament are you. What I've learned in life "The man is the head of the family" but the women controls the neck and we can make the head go in any direction. "The man wears the pants in the family." but the women controsl the zipper and we can make him go in our direction. Sure I'm more then willing to get in the kitchen and make my man a sandwhich as long as his paycheck is going to my bank account. Sure I'm a somewhat religious woman but I'm also a modern woman. I personally let them think I'm paying attention to them but I can always get them to do what I want but let them think it was there idea LOL its just way to easy and oh so freakin' fun.

No offense but you sound more like a whore then a modern woman :x.

LOL calling me a whore thats freakin' hilarious you obviously don't know me... for real women you don't have to put out to get what you want... first of all you don't really follow the old testament that's why its called old. recommend reading up on the new testament. Also look up the term modern woman what you want is a slave so go and get yourself mail order bride if you want that. So good luck on that.

Of course you can still call yourself a Christian. It's well known that the bible was influenced by God, and so it's not true word-for-word. It's very obvious that it wasn't all true.
Jehovah's Witnesses, however, believe it was all true word-for-word.

The Old Testament has value and we are to follow the theology in it. However, the covenant between God and man is different as the old one has been fulfilled through God (Jesus). The words testament actually means covenant.

You left out my favorite kind of sanctified (biblical) marriage, rape during war or peace time. http://www.religioustolerance.org/mar_bibl0.htm

That passage from the Bible as a front to make this particular point is not entirely concrete. Do know that this is the consequence Eve was given for breaking the "law" in the first place. If such actions did not take place, then it would have been an entirely different story.

On the surface, men and women are not equal. That said, even among individuals they are not equal. They can only be presented with equal opportunity. On another vantage point, individuals (also between men and women) can be "equal" in a sense that each has their own unique experiences and talents to name a few that can be used as advantageous to any other individual and thus have what I would term "relativistic equality". To put it bluntly, one can make up for what he or she lacks by possessing something the others don't have.

Untrue.
Obviously, Noah's ark wasn't true. The only people left after the flood were Noah, his wife, and his two sons
(I believe). The world couldn't possibly procreate after that, especially since Noah was over 600 years old.

Many stories are simply that: stories. I'm not saying the entire bible is false. Most of the New Testament is most likely true. It really depends on who you're talking to. I believe that the Old Testament is all fake stories, like fables, made up to show the people back then with lesser intelligence how they were supposed to act.
