If you don't want to see real yaoi, it's not too hard to avoid. But when you want to look up pictures of your favorite character and they're in, say, a compromising position, it can get really annoying. (That reminds me of the anti-yaoi fanart petition I saw on deviantart.) Personally, I dislike romantic shipping of ANY kind. Whether it's yaoi, yuri, straight, and especially if it's a 15-year-old with a 30-year-old. If it's canon or really strongly implied by the author, that's OK. But making up your own screwy pairings really gets under my skin.

Most of the yaoi relies off of the whole rape = love storyline which is just disgusting. That's a lot less common in yuri, not to mention the yaoi fangirls. Oh god.
