Nothing made me want to become anything, but hajime no ippo re-inspired me to pick up boxing once again. I started back when I was like 15 and quit last year because they denyed me my right to take the liscensing exam. But after seeing Ippo I started over again. It just sucks kinda because I litteraly half to forget 3 and a half years of intense practice and start from the basics ALL over or it is meaningless because my muscles have forgotton the essentials.

Before I was introduced to anime, I really wanted to become an author. I kind of still do. Now, I'm considering polishing my Japanese language skills enough to translate Japanese novels, light novels, and manga instead. I'm a great writer (not trying to brag or anything like that) but I'm terrible at writing my own stories and such. Still, my numerous attempts at short story writing and bookish habits have helped me learn a lot about writing, and it frustrates me when I can't get my hands on a good translation of a light novel or Japanese novel one of my favorite animes was inspired by. Because of that, translating Japanese novels and such would be a really good job for me, I think. I also want to own a small bookstore. Until then, I mostly just want to get a good education, go to a good college and get a creative writing degree, work (hopefully) at a book store until I've saved up enough money to open my own, and we'll see from there.

As of now, I've pre-ordered the novel The Girl Who Leapt Through Time was based on for when it's released in the U.S., I'm currently reading the book Howl's Moving Castle (it's not Japanese, but it's nice to read the original novel. You'd be surprised by how much it differs from the movie), and I recently finished reading the English-translated Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami (An anime isn't based off it that I know of, but it's pretty dang awesome. It kind of reminds me of a Japanese Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is... interesting, to say the least. (Speaking of The Hitchhiker's Guide, the next novel is currently being written by Eoin Colfer, the Irish author of the Artemis Fowl series. The Hitchhiker's Guide's original author, hard-core Englishman Douglas Adams, died shortly after the series' last book was published, leaving fans perpetually on the edge of one of the biggest cliffhangers I've ever seen. The big question now is if Colfer, who, for all his hillarious literary genious, is most centainly not Adams, can pull it off.)).
