Maybe they already have. Would u know it if there was a secret usa base in mars?
maybe soon they will blow up all the countries from space while acting innocent on earth
and collecting symphaties of ppl by giving away some bread to the starving.

i personally think they did land on the moon , but the chinese are going there in ten years so they wont cover america. also at that time russia was planning and right behind america how could they have taken that chance that russia might of exposed them.

Aw, but if I give you some then that means less for me :P

It was just that they seemed so desperate for wanting to top Russia, and after the Apollo 1 went horribly wrong (you know the fire) it seemed as though they were willing to cling to anything to rise above.

Besides, at that time they weren't as advanced so it wouldn't be as easy to spot. For example lets take a video from the 80's. At that time the effects were so cool and advanced people wondered how the hell they pulled some of them off. Fast forward to 2009 when we see these videos we laugh and show how we could do the same thing with Vegas or whatever program people use (not familiar with video editing software's, don't use them >_<). It's the same thing, yeah I get it was NASA, and they obviously had technology that was on the way, but they weren't in full function yet.

There was also the idea of how did they leave footprints on the moons surface yet the Lunar Module didn't even make a small crater at all seeing as how it's more likely to make an impact that a really deep shoe print.

It also doesn't help that the videos just disappeared.

I know I sound like a douche bag (yeah I sometimes find myself cracking up at my own stupidity or over analysis in some things) but it's just that sometimes it's hard to believe some of the things that's happening.

I mean I'm willing to accept the fact that America may have landed on the moon, but it's still kind of odd how they never went again (yeah yeah, financial bullcrap is always the answer to this one) and how much controversy surrounds it (not really the type to embrace controversies, but I still take them into account on my final judgment).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Orion_%28nuclear_propulsion%29
Unless the Orion(nuclear engine)-type is developed, space exploration will be as stagnant as today, with primitve chemical rockets and weak ion boosters.
The most energy efficient rockets are either based on fusion or fission nuclear reactors.
There is possibility of anti-matter engine, but producing anti-matter is far more expensive then its fuel value.

answer is no...

because:

1. Recession/Depression in the USA
2. Insufficient Technologies
3. Terrorism
4. Dwindling Natural Resources
5. Abundance of idiots in the world (including in forums)

man cannot advance to space because of those reasons

you may laugh or disagree but those are facts

Where we stand, right now, insofar as actual technology and/or technological concepts, given proper funding and public interest, we can be there by ten years, and that's a generous estimate. Five years to perfect the technology, five years to build it all and get it set up. They're already plotting out the landing site.

Now from what we've seen from the last eight to twelve years, humanity likes to drag it's feet on these things, as they're too busy making wars and throwing missiles across borders. So let's give them 25 or so years for a country who's more interested in advancing technology for their own causes, then per say, dealing with international conflicts.

In 50 years? There will be a lot more domestic toys for people to play with. Medical technology will be a bit more advanced, in part because the moral bindings of some genetic research would have worn off a little bit well before that time.

Space settlements? Unless there's a resource out there that will force people by the droves to space, i highly doubt it. (*see He3 [Helium 3])
