Words that shouldn't go together, imo. ¬¬

Well there is already FF11...

And that's what SNES fanboys said about putting FF7 on Sony's system so many years ago and look what came out of that Of course back then Final Fantasy didn't have near the following it does now in the states.

There's no reason they shouldn't put it on the 360, I mean share the love, there are more 360 owners than PS3 owners in the US after all (I think the figure is close to 2:1, and this past holiday season was more of a win for the 360, well technically the Wii by miles but the 360 still beat the PS3 close to that same figure, 2:1). It'd only make sense to put their flagship game onto the most owned console (okay technically the Wii is but there are obvious hardware limitations let alone the horrors of cross-platform developing for the Wii in the first place)

Besides Square-enix has had a disappointing run on the next-gen consoles thus far, Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant, first one developed by Tri-Ace and second in-house at Square-enix didn't do well at all and Last Remnant at best will develop a small cult following. They need to re-establish themselves as an RPG giant in America. Star Ocean 4 and FF13 are their next and only chances that will come anytime soon with the polish we would expect out of square-enix, anything else will probably be made in under a lot less time and attention to detail than these two, at least for a few years, leaving them completely out of probably the first half of this new generation here in the states.

Oh back on topic, I own a 360, but to maybe go off-topic depending on where I'm working I might want a PS3 for versus 13 =\ Or I might just borrow my friends like I did to beat MGS4.

I just loled at how the RPGs that more or less failed except Last Remnant, which did horrible considering the hype it had all came out on the 360 and not the PS3.

IMO the 360 controller just feels weird for an RPG, I felt the same way on the original Xbox playing Fable, even though it was a fun game.

I just checked gamespot and well both of the games fail quite horribly.

Also I don't really think its the console's fault for Square's failing. I mean considering the fact that the company has gone extremely downhill at creating games since its merged.

Almost every game has done horribly or it was a remake, which is really quite pitiful. They pretty much ruined the niche over the past decade with FFXII. Some people like it and some people don't, personally I thought it was extremely boring.

WKC looks like a very good alternative to an FF game.

The Last Remnant wasn't a bad game by any means, it was slightly overhyped cause people expected Final Fantasy, there were some graphical issues but it just did not do well in the states. Famitsu gave it a good rating but they typically give all square-enix rpgs good ratings, but it was shot down by every western critic with a website. I think it would've been better received if it wasn't for the slight framerate issues and insane learning curve. (For some reason anybody who wrote a review overexaggerates the drop in frame rate. I've seen worse in other 360 games like Mass Effect and GoW2)

Infinite Undiscovery should've been good, people expected an epic game of SO3 proportions but it was just run of the mill. Some people blame it on the fact that SO4 was due less than 8 months after this game was released.

Anyway you can't really blame the merger, Enix-games are still enix games developed by third-party developers (tri-ace, for instance) and square games are still more or less square games (developed in-house). KH2, SO3 came out after the merger, and FF12 whether people like it or not was a good game. It sold extremely well, critics loved it, only die-hard turn-based fans didn't like it. Square's been trying to get off the traditional turn-based game for years and FF12 was the best step they could've taken towards it, Last Remnant's battle system was even an evolution to the turn-based world of FF12's battle system. With good reason traditional turn-based RPGs are typically boring in today's world (Mistwalker has made two very traditional turn-based games, blue dragon and lost odyssey, I found both extremely boring)

Last Remnant was overhyped because they portrayed it as an epic game. I didn't even know the battle system was going to be a spin off version of the way you use the Magus Sisters in FFX.

KH is fucking gay. Period. I will give it credit for attaining a large female gamer market though. That was a spectacular move.

I don't have a 360 so honestly none of the 360 exclusive RPGs mean anything. Lost Odyssey only looked cool in trailers and Blue Dragon I didn't think it was going to be good anyways.

Also what is SO3? Star Ocean Til the End of Time? That still didn't even hit over an 8.0 on Gamespot. KH2 got an 8.7 thats .5 better than KH, which is good.

Very few of Square's games are really top quality games. Majority of the games they have produced for real consoles have failed terribly and even the handheld ones haven't done really well except like 3 or 4 out of like 7.

7 RPG Games out of 16 scored an 8.0 or higher for the 360.

5 RPG games out of 8 scored an 8.0 or higher for the PS3.

4 of the ones that scored 8.0 or higher are multiplatform. 6 Total are multiplatform

So thats 1 out of 2 for the PS3 that scored 8.0 or higher.

For 360 its 3 out of 10 that scored 8.0 or higher.

FF12 felt like WoW and thats all I have to say about it. I hate WoW and honestly its one boring ass MMO.

FFXIII Versus is PS3 only, so if you intend to play both, you might as well settle for one system over the other.

Also, PS3 has Valkyria Chronicles, MGS4, etc, whereas the 360 has no real exclusives (PC PORTS, AW YEAH)

Actually all of us dont believe it will be ass kicking just because it bears the name Final Fantasy in fact square has been putting out bulshit rpgs lately (Infinite Discovery, Last Reminant). Dont try to get too hyped because Final Fantasy 12 was hyped and was a let down. Sorry to hurt some of the fanboys but anyways back on topic since it is coming out both ps3 or Xbox it is pretty much your prefence in which system has better games overall and the 360 wins.

I'm trying to determine whether your a square hater, an enix hater, the merger hater, an rpg hater, a 360 hater or a ps3 hater. It's very difficult and your *reviews* don't mean crap. Name games that you yourself played or forever remain quiet. And since you don't own a 360 you officially don't get to badmouth any mistwalker game, last remnant or infinite undiscovery since you obviously haven't played them.

Reviews are fickle things and can't be used as concrete evidence for any discussion because they are based on another's tastes, especially when you only cite *one* review source? Blue Dragon got 9/10 from GI but I won't mention the lower scores it got elsewhere Lost Odyssey got the same from gametrailers, and FF12 which you hate so much got a perfect score from Famitsu (first FF ever to get that btw)

Since you successfully bashed most of the major square-enix RPGs past 1999 and every current gen RPG without naming names (That's some feat there) which games did you actually play that you *did* like?

tempting since tales of vesperia is on it too but overall ps3 has alot of good games coming out as well
with street fighter 4, tekken 6, final fantasy 13 as well as the verus version which looks amazing in the trailer.

But i don't really like the new fighting style ff is at atm, i prefer turn base or something like tales series.

First off you're getting pretty defensive and secondly you make it seem like I hate the games I've listed, which I don't I just dislike them.

So then Facebreaker is a good game? Mushroom Men? Dynasty Warriors? Sonic Unleashed? Tornado?

Reviews are given for a reason otherwise everything would be given a 10. For reviews I look at gamespot and normally gamespot only. I look at X-Play and see what they give most RPGs and shooters since they are especially hard on RPGs and they've played enough shooters to where the crappy ones will seem very very dull. Also I use gamespot because I agree on what they say mostly. Framerate issues no matter how you look at it are annoying as hell.

I also loled at how you wanted to say reviews didn't mean anything and provided sources.

Lol I'm not a hater of anything to be honest. I'm just pointing out the facts. I just find it funny how the 360 does not do well with RPGs. Actually I lied, I'm starting to hate Square for constantly throwing out shit games. Especially spin-offs, the remakes are decent. However the constant games that they are producing that are failing epically is rather annoying and sad.

Bashed every major RPG? Star Ocean was boring beyond imagination. KH I hated that too mainly because of Disney and the way people looked. Also the gameplay was really goofy and odd. FFXII that was a preference thing, the story was slow and the fighting system was surprisingly lame. I have played a lot of MMOs and this one felt too much like one and it was a turn-off. Also FFXII got a 9.0 from GS which is amazing and even more amazingly got a 5 out of 5 from X-Play. No doubt it was a change from their norm however I thought it would be better than a wanna-be MMO. If they wanted to do something different they should have tried Crisis Core's battle system. It was a lot more simplistic and had a lot of faults but it was much more entertaining than FFXII's.

Just because I don't own a 360 does not mean I have not played those games. My friend owns a 360 and I play most of the games he buys, which most of the RPGs he does have. Also Eternal Sonata is fucking gay. The story is SO slow.

Also why would I bash Mistwalker, when he was the one who basically started FF games? I do fear that MS might input on his ideas, which may alter the results quite a bit since they are funding him. Also if you're talking about Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon looked lame as hell. Lost Odyssey was misleading. I thought it was an ARPG or something with the CG scenes with all the knights and shit. I didn't know it was a full on RPG. I never said it was a bad game in any of my posts.

For some that I did like FFX, FF4, Suikoden 3, Drakengard(To some extent it was very hack and slash but the dragon was cool.) Valkyrie Profile 1 & 2, FFVII CC, Fable, Ninja Gaiden, No More Heroes, Fire Emblems(Except the Wii one I have yet to play that one) Fire Emblem is more of a SRPG though.
