I'm a vocalist looking to join a band! Preferably with members age 18-30 (since I'm 23) but if you know your instruments I really don't care about age. My name is Yura (or April, whatever you're comfortable with) and I've been singing for a long time (since I was about 8 or so), though I don't have any stage experience. Here is my youtube channel if you want to see my covers:

http://www.youtube.com/user/strawberryyura
(I can sing better than in my covers, I'm just ready for the stage and a little bored in front of the camera... by myself... XD)

I'm getting to the point where I want to write songs as a band, instead of doing more covers. If you live in or near Seattle I'd love to get together and maybe start performing at cons or something XD My inspirations come from but aren't limited to: Nana (I know she's not real but still lol), Smashing Pumpkins, Malice Mizer, Versailles, Girugamesh, Kanon Wakeshima, Kiyoharu, etc. etc. etc. XD

Greetings, everyone. I have found this forum, and by extension this group, to be somewhat helpful so far. I will attempt to keep this post short and sweet, but there's a lot of information I need to cover, so those seriously looking for a visual-kei-themed band to join in the Western hemisphere, please bear with me.

My name is Naoya. I'm from the eastern coast of the United States, currently living in Connecticut, aka the Barrens of the East Coast (nothing here whatsoever). The upside is that I'm right next to New York, where there is a burgeoning Jrock scene. For the past year, I have been putting together a visual kei band and spent almost a year in Canada doing it. So you have an understanding of my level of dedication to this project, I first networked with the lead guitarist (who lives in Quebec) and we hit it off. I wrote a few songs for his fledgling band at the time, and when the band lost its bassist, I dropped out of school, put my life on hold, severed all ties to my life in Florida, my friends and (ex)girlfriend there, and uprooted to Quebec to get things moving.

Since then, the band has undergone many changes, and suffering in the economic climate many of us are living in, we encountered numerous obstacles in our quest to get the project started. Fortunately, we didn't have to start from nothing. The lead guitarist is somewhat of a Youtube celebrity, featured on Miyavi's personal blog as well as in dozens of other blogs, columns, and articles for only two videos he had posted years ago on Youtube. With well over one thousand subscribers, we enjoyed the luxury of having a pre-existing fanbase and lots of interest in our band project. Without releasing a single audio track, our band has managed to attract support worldwide, with support groups already established in Canada, Germany, and even as far east as Japan itself.

Our band's Myspace

The lead guitarist's Youtube channel
http://www.youtube.com/user/Yameki
My new Youtube channel
http://www.youtube.com/user/naoyaneurose

On my Youtube channel, I recently released an original Jrock-themed track entitled, Suiheisenshoku which may give you some idea, though the quality of the recording is poor, of a fragment of the music I write.

Our band is currently seeking a vocalist and a drummer. Style (pictures of me and other members on our band's Myspace and our personal Myspaces as well as in my Crunchyroll profile), charisma, and dedication are extremely important to us. We do not kid around. We are seeking members who will do whatever it takes to make it and have the drive and ambition to succeed. We are not hobbyists, we are musicians with many connections, including CURE magazine, Jrock Radio, and several music studios. Once we complete the band, we will exploit these connections to their fullest potential.

As the primary songwriter, my primary influences musically are The GazettE, Alice Nine, D=Out, Dir en grey, Bullet for my Valentine, Killswitch Engage, Miyavi, Protest the Hero, Maximum the Hormone, Girugamesh, Steve Vai, Slipknot, Deluhi, MUCC, and Alice in Chains.

Those interested in joining the band must be serious, hard-working, and willing to make sacrifices. Unfortunately, unless under special circumstances, we don't see how it would be possible to invite members to our band unless they were 18 years or older because of the obvious difficulties and legal issues involved with minors living on their own, etc etc. Exceptions may be made if the situation is unique enough to warrant consideration. Our band will most likely be based out of the Connecticut or New York area. More than likely, in the future, our Canadian members will move to the United States because there is a more realistic chance of success given the size of the music industry and fanbase there.

If you are interest in the band, please PM me here, or send me a Myspace message (which I will probably reply to faster). If you send samples of any recordings you may have done, that is obviously helpful, even if they were done in your bedroom with a crappy microphone or singing on the toilet into a voice recorder. We don't care. Be specific. Where are you from? Who are your influences? Would you be willing to relocate? Whatever you can tell us is helpful so we can correctly evaluate whether or not you are the right fit for the band.

Thank you, and good luck with each and every one of your musical endeavors,

~Naoya

NOTES:
1. You do not have to be able to read or write sheet music (or write music at all).
2. You need to be dedicated, meet deadlines, show up to practices, and contribute to the band.
3. You need to act professional where professionalism is due. How you act affects the image of the entire band.
4. You must be patient.
5. You must be able to work with a team.
6. Improvisational skill at your instrument(s) is a plus.
7. Our band will waste no time with individuals with "rock star egos". Lord knows, my lead guitarist has a big enough one already.
8. No "extra baggage". I.e. pissed off girlfriends/boyfriends showing up at practices.
9. It is not imperative that you speak Japanese, however our lyrics may be in Japanese so you must be willing to work at singing in Japanese and grow comfortable doing it.
10. Above all else, you must be willing to get repeatedly and mercilessly pwned by the rest of the band at Super Smash Brothers and Street Fighter.

I'm a 18 year old guitarist searching for members for a VK band
I've been playin for 7 years now, i'm not the best but I'm descent, I play alot of stuff like symphonic metal, metal, rock, punk, a lil bit of blues, j pop, and alternative.
I also know how to play bass, some drums, and I use to be a vocalist. I have been in a few bands, so I have plenty of stage expeirence.
I don't have a problem with make up, costumes or anything like that.
I get along and work well with others
A few of my inspirations for playin guitar are Ace frehley of kiss, teru and hizaki of versailles, mana of moi dix mois, aoi of the gazette, bou of an cafe, and hitsugi and sakito of nightmare.

My name's Kioshi and I'm a 16 female who lives in Minnesota. I'm solid on vocals and currently have begun playing the violin.

Experience in your musical talent: I've played the violin for only 4 months so far but I'm fairly good at it. I've been singing since I was 7 although not formally until 3 years ago.

What type of music your band is, or what type of music you would like to play with a band: In the past, I had wanted to make a band however that band seems like it will never take flight. It was going to Visual for the most part although many other styles were going to be put in as well as time progressed. I don't have any objections to other styles and am willing to try anything.

Who inspired you to play your instrument: The violin was really a random choice to say the very least but I chose to sing because when I first heard the song Forever Love by X Japan, I was immediately captivated by the Jrock scene.

I'm influenced by many different bands but the most prominent ones are Dir en grey, X Japan, the GazettE, アンド (AND), Vidoll, Versailles, alice nine., D and ScReW.

I may post some of my singing onto youtube but most likely not soon. Also, I write lyrics.

Greetings all! My name is Mayuka. I am an experienced composer, singer and Guitarist looking to give further shape to my band!

Our style is that of Versailles meets Malice Mizer, and we are very influenced not only by all sorts of metal, but also the sound of the Orchestra.

I already have a very talented pianist under my wing, and need a rhythm guitarist and bassist to fill out our act. I currently have over 10 songs written, with tab and score for each, and will further go over any problem areas at rehearsal ^_^ It would also be great if you would have any songs to contribute as well!

We are located in the Los Angeles area, and would like to meet regularly and start playing shows immediately.

Samples are available at : myspace.com/mayukamusic

serious inquiries only please.

Please feel free to message me here, or on the myspace with any further questions you may have ^_^ Thank you so much for reading! I hope to hear from you all soon! <3

Looking for a full visual kei band (dont have to match in style, can be colorful or dark) would love to sing for a band but I also play guitar. I play rythym not lead. I can't do solos (yet) I would rather prefer singing. I'm not in a band yet but would love to make this a life style and career. I'm 21 years old and living in Virginia of the united states. My number is 757-672-0127. Call or text me. You guys can also find me just about anywhere on the net. I go by Laru Waffle. ( would love to make Laru my band name) I have MySpace, Twitter, gaiaonline, YouTube, facebook and of course this. My inspiration comes from Maya from LM.C. Style, guitar, makeup and vocals all from him! ^^ I'm looking for a full band; 2 guitars, bass guitar, keyboard, drummer and whatever we can fit in. You won't regret meeting me! I am serious about the visual kei world :3

Instrument Played: Vocals (Operatic ex. Klaha, GPK, melodic ex. Kamijo, Hyde, Fu-Ki, femme ex. Kaya, Gackt's "feminine" voice, & dark ex. DJ Chihiro, MC Rakkapee), Piano, Synthesizers...
Experience in your musical talent: I have been playing music seriously for about 3 years. I have only had experience in solo projects due to the low numbers of visual kei musicians in the united states. Many who have heard my music, with vocals or without, have liked it.
What type of music your band is, or what type of music you would like to play with a band: Anything is alright really. As you can tell from my music section, I like all ranges of music, from a more baroque rock like Malice Mizer, to electronic like Schwarz Stein, to metal like Versailles, I am really okay with anything except rap or country. But if you liked rap or country, what would you be doing in a visual kei group?
Who inspired you to play your instrument: Originally industrial bands such as Rammstein & Ruoska, but within the past few years - Gackt, Klaha, GPK, Kaya and many others.
Location: Minneapolis, MN, USA, but I am more than open to working with people in other states/countries. Internet makes anything possible!

Greetings mates. Names Yin. I'm a guitarist, backup vocalist, and screamer. I have been teaching myself guitar for 5 monthes now, and can play decent lead AND rhythm. I've also taken professional singing lessons for a year, and self taught myself to vocal fry (Screamo Scream/Growl), making me good background vocals.

Visual Kei is very important to me. It's more than just a hobby to me, it's a lifestyle, a career, a masterpiece. Anything less is an insult. With Bou from An Cafe being my "first" (Though not only) inspiration, I plan to dress "highly" feminin once I get my clothing. That aside, i'm not looking for people who just "want to get something together". That's a waste of my time. I'm looking for people with a passion for VK, with a dream, a plan, to actually make something of themselves from the genre.

Some of my most listened to artist include Alice Nine, Danger Gang, An Cafe, Lolita 23q, Exist Trace, and the list goes on. I do "prefer" harder rock, but i'm also open to anything else people are looking to do. I'm extremely open-minded about music. I'm also looking for people who strive to be original. Too many times have I searched Youtube and found VK bands with the same sound, over and over, and no "soul" in their music. Don't get me wrong, i'm definitely looking to make money (We all are), but i'm also looking to make meaniningful, unforgettable music.

I'm 18 years old, and live in Alexandria, Louisiana, but VK is a foreign language down here. I don't forsee "any" promotion in my area. I'm willing to relocate, but keep in mind i'm only running around with a high school degree, so chances are I won't have more than a minimum wage job, which may require rent splitting.

Previously, I planned to save up enough money to move to Japan this year, because promotion is hard here, but if the band is off to good a start, i'm "more" than willing to stay. There's a difference between good start and "famous." I'm not entirely selfish, just logical.

That said, if you are looking for a good, extremely serious, dedicated band member who won't quit on you through the expected hell and high water sure to come in the music business, hit me up here:

Here are my guitar samples: http://www.myspace.com/yinguitar

Myspace (And for those of you wanting to get to know me better.): http://www.myspace.com/yinnysan

In closing remarks, not to brag or anything, but i'm half Korean..meaning I can "actually" pull off some good styles. That is all.

~Yin : P Thank you for reading.
