well i kinda like came up with a line that says "is LOVE REALLY real or LOVE is REAL because people SAY IT IS REAL".. actually, it was asked by my philo teacher during classes...

i tried to discuss it with my friends and they kinda agree with me that love is really real.. but my prof pointed out a lot of mind bugling stuffs that surely made me think twice...

so what you think??? is Love really real or is the other way around..

Well first off before you can figure out whether love is real or not you have to define it first. What's your definition?

simple answer..yes. but there is no scientific explanation for it. at most, its a theory. but for us, its just an accepted fact.

been with my girl 6 years and 5 months.... the time flew, but honestly
it didn't feel that long because it's been fun with her this whole time.

I say love is real once you genuinely find it, and want it.

^ ^ I was thinking that, but reading the reason for why he wrote this, it seems like he's looking for a philosophical explanation, not a mushy, love quote.

But bukky's still kinda right, there are lots of "love" forums, like this one:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/showforumtopic?id=1035

but regarding if love is real, it depends on what you mean by "real". I could say that a drawing of a dragon "looks real", but the truth is that it doesn't exist in reality. But don't let the peculiarities boggle you... the truth is simply what you feel inside - the mere fact that you're trying to figure out if love is real or not... that is love for knowledge. You're choice to live and not die, that is love. You don't have to look far or explain yourself to prove that you love... you simply ARE love. Period.

How about the 3rd option, not real at all!? I'm not going to bother to comment because its not clear what your after, but I'll point you in the direction (more or less) that I suspect your teacher headed.

Skip down to "Phenomena and Noumena", http://www.philosophypages.com/hy/5g.htm

"According to Kant, it is vital always to distinguish between the distinct realms of phenomena and noumena. Phenomena are the appearances, which constitute the our experience; noumena are the (presumed) things themselves, which constitute reality. All of our synthetic a priori judgments apply only to the phenomenal realm, not the noumenal. (It is only at this level, with respect to what we can experience, that we are justified in imposing the structure of our concepts onto the objects of our knowledge.) Since the thing in itself (Ding an sich) would by definition be entirely independent of our experience of it, we are utterly ignorant of the noumenal realm."
