Care to express your reasons why this is so, or are you just talking out of your ass?

To address something regarding baka-wolf:

Wasnt CR, before all the licensing agreements and what not, when it was just a streaming site, asking for donations as well to keep its servers up? Whether the cost was unreasonable or not, and who are we too to assume that the costs of some servers are insanely expensive, alot of people donated too (who knows of Shinji back then was jipping us).

EDIT: Fyi...read this http://www.baka-wolf.com/brigade/dmca.html. They do have a notice that they would take down copyrighted material if the anime companies asked.

Im just trying to see this from a neutral perspective since I respect both fansubs and the anime industry. Pro-CR people continuously bashing the anti-CR for stealing "anime" or even watching fansubs or Anti-CR people bashing for always wanting free anime is not gonna solve any problems, just create more.

If you want to be legit, then do it all the way. None of this take a popular anime on then when it really gets it audience cut it off then maybe work a deal behind the scenes to be legit and then hope we stick around out of pure addiction crap.

See how long you last if you didn't allow any non-licensed videos on your site.

If you want we can even get a email campaign going to bring to the attention of those who need knowing so then you HAVE to remove them. As being sued seems to be the only thing that motivates you.

Stop acting so patronizing and stop profiting off others' work.

Then you can start by alerting the proper authority about this site: http://www.baka-wolf.com/

Because unlike CR, which only stream legitimate anime series licensed by CR with the help of the anime creators and CR's licensing partners, this site is everything but.

just a question mate, have u ever tried to run a server?..and do u know how much is the cost of the bandwidth and connection speed?..if not try checking before saying thats a rip off XD..a standard high bandwidth high speed server will cost more than 500$..in this case, using an exclusively high storage is also one point to make it really expensive.. our gaming server costs about 2500 usd each month..

Okay no offense, but you didn't really form a good arguement. Mainly because I couldn't understand your point. CR only has anime now that the producers have given them permission for. Otherwise everything is gone.

I did some research for a little support on this post...seems his servers before costed 70k a month to operate...and i found an interesting q and a on that article.

"Did you ever feel a cognitive disconnect making money – regardless of what that money was used for – by providing illegal streams of the artists’ work, without a dime of it going back to the artists themselves? You weren't subtitling them yourselves, either, just using external fansubs, and making money by streaming them. Did that ever bother you? Did you ever stop and think “what are we doing?”

I wouldn't say that, but a lot of people don't realize how much work and money it takes to keep a website running. All of the donations went into operating expenses. We put in countless hours every week after work and school to make it a good site. We weren't trying to make a profit, but just keep the site running. We believe the same thing fansubbers do, that by growing the popularity of anime, we are growing the fanbase and the industry. I can't comment directly on it, but I can say how the anime and fansub community even began."

Well both the screen shot and the website address are valid, so I'm afraid it's all true. And aside from the donations, they also collect advertising fees by offering their website for advertisements, and who know just how much they're getting from that.

the anime titles list needs to be trimmed, and only licensed anime need to be shown, then and only then will all this be done with. Right now they make it look like TONS of anime is available to watch and even more if you subscribe, but you subscribe and you still don't have access to blocked anime and heaven help you if you are in a region blocked by rights issues.

Just trim the list and that right there will be a HUGE good faith measure in showing us all this site means to really go legit

Actually they are getting a deal if the kind of bandwidth they use up only comes to 1000 bucks a month, trust me I know.

So what happens when the bandwidth cost is less than $1000, when they only run file sharing with XDCC, which can be run from just a simple computer.

now you're just reaching to try and make an argument

And yet when CR did it and got 75,000 USD a month in subscriptions and shopped for 15 mil in backing BEFORE they went legit, it's all ok.

If what bakawolf is doing is illegal, then what CR did is also illegal. whats the difference really? CR went legit? Going legit without reconciling their illegitimate past means only that they slipped the noose, not that their great people.

..yah thats what i mean, servers dont come like a cd on a shelf, or a pc from alienware, its is much much expensive, on an anual basis a whole server with ultiamate storage and power will cost over a 100k dollars.. i know this because i once ran a private game server with a friend.. so u cant help but ask for donations(unless ur a rich fatboy XD)..
