Before I listen to this I just hope this song will at least make just a hit here in the states not to mention a little better than her last album(gotta be honest).
Update: I like it it's not bad hope she does good at her second attempt in America.

On first listen, I thought, dang...this sounds so Americanized. I really liked the opening, but as it got to the bridge, her voice sounded a little strained. I thought, Hikki! Why are you singing so high? That'll be so hard to sing live!!! And you still haven't completely recovered from your last tour!

The lyrics were at times very poetic and beautiful, but when she sang the "cheated" part, I thought that was a little too blunt. I like lyrics that are a little more elusive, I guess.

But as I listened to it more and more, it really grew on me! I've had it on repeat for a while now The ending was sweet too. And I guess it's not so bad to have an Americanized single--how else will it get big in America???

I hope the rest of her album has a bit more of her Japanese flavor though :P

Hopefully it makes a hit. I don't like the posts that mention 'Americanized' ... it's a style anywhere besides the U.S.

I love the song. I'm worried that if it's a hit.. A couple of people I deem idiots on my bus would sing along to it... Oh well that means Utada did well. xD

Actually i thought the cheated part was one of the things she retained from her japanese style...she has a way of saying things that sounds really blunt in english but not to much in japanese....everything else though i agree with u i listened to it like over and over now im addicted LOL

Agree with you to an extent, actually. Music is supposed to be universal, right? Not like America owns a certain styling of music. I guess I just meant that it sounds.......like something you would hear on mainstream American radios? You know what I mean? I don't know. Something about the way she sings it, how its arranged...it's a little different from what I usually think of.

Oh yeah, sounding like something on mainstream radios isn't a bad thing either
