NOT!

This thread is made in reply to countless people posting links on the forums and group walls to websites containing pirated material

Here is why I believe you should not post links or even names of sites containing pirated material

#1: Because it is pirated material, it is illegal material, and CR does not have pirated material on it's site anymore

#2: Skip beat! is now free to watch, even though the episodes are currently in transition, you can wait a few days for the newest episode

#3: Loss revenue due to users posting links to pirated material will cause said publisher to have minimum gains through CR, thus implying that we, as international anime fans, do not care about the publisher's interests and only our own, do not care about the series or even supporting it, and proving that the new concept will ultimately take longer than expected to get off the ground

#4: Anime is not free, it costs alot to produce an anime, even in japan where it is free, they run commercials, the commercials and advertisers pay for the anime, and merchandise is also a way to receive revenue..thus if you post a link to a website that makes money off of posting pirated material, especially on the publisher's own series article..its just pure irony and no-one gains anything cept you and the person posting pirated material

#5: Supporting the Anime by waiting to view it on CR is a way to legally support the series, and while supporting the series, you help insure that the publisher has a strong fan base internationally..thus it will probably create a chain reaction and more anime could even be created/added to satisfy said fan base

#6: and this is the main point

*cough*

Under Crunchyroll terms, agreed by you when joining the site

and i hereby quote

Copyrighted Materials: No Infringing Use.

You will not use the Site or Services to offer, display, distribute, transmit, route, provide connections to or store any material that infringes copyrighted works or otherwise violates or promotes the violation of the intellectual property rights of any third party. Crunchyroll has adopted and implemented a policy that provides for the termination in appropriate circumstances of the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe or are believed to be or are charged with repeatedly infringing the rights of copyright holders. Please see the Crunchyroll Copyright and IP Policy for further information.

posting links to pirated material is (to me) violating this said rule by infringing upon the rights of said publisher to post their series where-ever they intend to post it and that a user supplying a link or name of a website to illegal sources with pirated material is in contradiction to this rule

and if thats not the tip of the iceberg, contributing to distribution of pirated material is in some countries the same as posting links to said pirated sites..but it only happens in well..countries most of us don't even live in ><

not trying to scare anyone..just trying to show why waiting a few days is the best way in supporting this series, thank you <3

I am not a mod, i can not enforce the rules, if a mod deems this thread as inappropriate, then please for the love of anime, post your own thread explaining it..there is no information anywhere referring to this information outright..and if there is..then countless users have yet to see it...having it stickied in a forum or even every single anime forum is a must in my opinion

Well, you're absolutely right about most everything. I, for one, chose to use the paid services just because it was the right thing to do. Now what, now that we've paid for CR? Hasn't CR essentially bought the rights to show the shows? Isn't our fee essentially us all chipping in for these rights? Now I think that would say that I have the right to view the show, don't you? If the show was out before CR even started its legal webcasts, as is the case for Skip Beat 13, for example, does it matter whether I use another site to view it? Does it matter, even if someone else benefits as well?

I think you picked a good battle to fight, but the wrong time to fight it. By Sunday, CR will be the quickest subber for Skip Beat and several other shows. For those who refuse to pay or cannot, CR will still let you watch it for free later. Why? I'd say that's because, in a week's time, the show will have been made available by subbers. They can't claim the altruism of inspiring interest for the DVD companies, nor can they claim that they are giving people exposure to what they wouldn't otherwise get. I'd call it a trap for prosecution.

at one point, it costeded around $90,000 USD to license one episode of an anime...
(this of course is without considering premiums and the number is only figuratively based on estimates given a few years ago)

if crunchyroll could potentially license a series based on anime member subscriptions..it would create a frenzy since people would want their money used to license the anime shows they like and would fuss over who could watch it or not >.>

@miyami, Please do not post where you can view copyrighted material, there is a reason why it's not available in a region..please respect international law <3 and thank you for your support by re-viewing it here ^^

@telstar, I have been an avid anime fan for a very long time, with that said..I have watched my fair share of anime...if i were to buy every anime ive watched..id need around $150,000 USD on a rough estimate >.>...because i can now support anime at a reasonable price as well as access without annoying dubs..i am proud to have bought an almost 2 year subscription to CR prepaid..2 months before today...if your region cannot access CR material, i could recommend a way to forgo said restriction, but i cant because well..it would get me banned..as well...if your an anime member and cannot watch anime member only titles..i believe you should be entitled to a refund OR..have your status removed until an anime is available for your region..either way..i believe its an issue CR has to find a way to deal with =/ and thank you for your support <3

The real problem is that when your as a US with an Anime Membership gets ten times as many animes to watch, as an european like myself for example. So if i were to buy a membership i would for the same price get ten times less, and for that very reason i wont buy an animemembership. As long as US people get more than me for the same amount of money i will continously look down upon this project, as it is simply unfair to the animelovers. I would though recommend all animelovers from US (and the aligned countries) to buy the membership if you are interested in supporting the animes offered.

thats why there's the PM button to TV tokyo in the info page, the more people email them to ask for more regions the more they'll realize they have fans EVERYWHERE and start to show it there
