^^ Well, the Densha Otoko drama was way better than the movie. So there's hope.

Yes, its a remake, but im sure they will make it different and better. In my opinion, the movie wasn't even that great, and now a Hollywood remake, and a Japanese remake. They should remake Windstruck(the prequel), because I think that one was better.

Kusanagi Tsuyoshi as Masaki Mitsuo <-- no offense, but just noo.. he looks so old and ugly (imo).. i want some hottie, like shun *.* lol..
Tanaka Rena as Takami Rinko

TBS has announced a drama adaptation of the hit 2001 Korean movie "My Sassy Girl," which is known as "Ryokiteki na Kanojo" in Japan. The series will star SMAP's Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and actress Lena Tanaka.

The romantic comedy, which originally starred Cha Tae-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun, was highly successful in Korea, and its popularity quickly spread throughout the rest of Asia. Immediately following its release in Japan in 2003, multiple television networks reportedly began fighting over drama adaptation rights. However, it wasn't until Kusanagi was attached to the project that a deal was made this past spring.

The character backgrounds and plot details will be changed for the drama. While the protagonists in the original film were college students, this time the pair will be a marine biology professor (Kusanagi) and an aspiring writer (Tanaka).

Nao Matsushita, Emi Suzuki, Yoshie Ichige, Nahomi Matsushima, Shosuke Tanihara, and Takaya Kamikawa have also been announced as cast members.

Hidenori Iyoda is producing, and Yuji Sakamoto is handling the script. Filming already started earlier this month, with the series scheduled to premiere in April.

actually WINDSTUCK isn't the prequel at all.
it's a misconception, but it's simply the same director.

It's his way of paying homage or tribute to his first film My Sassy Girl.
but in ACTUALITY there's no connections.
how so?

1) the character in MSG was given a necklace by her first love, we never see this
in WS.

2) the character in WS was in her late 20's, as opposed to the character in MSG which was in her mid 20's.... which doesn't make sense since supposedly MSG is after WS.

3) In MSG she said she met him on a train on the way home from school while
she was a student, not chasing a robber like in WS.

overall the director himself said there's no actual connections, it's just a cameo
role he wanted to put in to make the audience smile.

If u weren't so quick to judge and actually looked at the 2 movies, then you would obviously see
it's not a prequel.... but obviously ur too simple minded to use ur brain.

wow, yes im so angry because i dont have concrete evidence to support my statement.
lol.

seriously.
i dont have the time to watch both movies and analyze carefully.
i have too much to do, or you just have alot of time on your hands.
your older than me by how much? and your arguing with a kid? dont you think thats pathetic, just leave it here.
if it makes you feel better, i'll just pretend its not a prequel.

ill just keep on beleiving what i believe, so try your best to presuade me.

first let me explain to you something.

You are on a public forum, age doesn't matter here.
I read what you had to say, and I made a response.
Don't like it then don't post threads.

In posting a topic you have to take the good with the bad.
Sometimes people will agree, sometimes not...
that's the point of a discussion.

I'm not stopping you from believing what you want to believe,
but don't go and confuse other people.

if you want further proof read this thread, perhaps it'll open your mind.
not to this silly movie situation, but to your ability to process other information.

ugh, the idea of hollywood remaking any foreign movie automatically sends a shiver down my spine. what is the point? just do a western release of the film, or, here's an idea: come up with your own film to make money from! ¬¬

^ imdb is not a fully trustable site, and i know you meant for the good, however, it is a prequel, and this thread is not about the prequel, its about the japanese drama remake.
i dont confuse others--that role in the movie was there as a cameo as you believe, but it can be set up to make it like the prequel. it can be interpreted any ways.
i DO believe its a prequel, and so does many people who have watched it. if you have any more problems, pm me, instead of flooding this thread which has nothing to do with windstruck.
stop narrowing your mind to one possiblity of the movie- it can be a prequel for those who believe it is.

as you said sometimes people will agree, sometimes not- that is a discussion.
im not confusing other people, it can be/or in your cant is not a prequel.
