Please read the OP before you post.
If you did you would see exactly how you're statement is incorrect in every way imaginable.

Hilarious thread. Would read again.

Oh and Adrian Eldrasson who was the drummer for Cradle of Filth has more talent in his left testicle than any of these "Goth" bands.

What's funny is I doubt you've ever even heard any of these "Goth" bands.
What's even more funny is the fact that if Erlandson has any talent, he sure doesn't use it. He tricks and just does a bunch of kickdrumming.

You've never seen him drum for anyone else other than Cradle, which is sad. Try not to imply anything about me, only makes you look like a bigger moron.

Non conformity is a silly and flawed concept in that one really just conforms to another set of ideals and norms.

That is the most beautiful sentence I ever heard. Could not agree more with that statement.

This was a very interesting read. I had wondered how the mainstream version of Goth related to the Victorian era that was not at all dark and gloomy. I see now that just like a lot of things it's just been distorted and misunderstood. Even so, I absolutely hate this perception of Goths as all angry and depressed when the goths I knew were actually pretty nice and cheery people who were just into the "gothic" style and music. And thanks to the likes of "punk" rockers like Avril (though I still like her music), punks were given that perception too.

Now Emos are a totally different story, which is why I can't stand when people mix them up with Goths. One of my best friends is one and it's a little difficult to be around her at times, especially when she goes into one of her "my life sucks" spells. I'll admit, that I like some of the Emo fashion but everything else about them just completely turns me off (feel free to change my mind, if you can).

Hey thanks. I am glad you liked the article.
Yeah I admit that I probably don't know what an emo really is, but from the whiny 'fashionably suicidal' impression they give, I can't stand them either.

So sure of yourself. You're the one assuming what I have seen or haven't seen despite not knowing anything about me, which just makes you look completely ignorant. Great job!
Kind of hypocritical of you to accuse me of implications about you. I stated my doubts. You went right out and made assumptions about me.
Guess what; If you don't like the thread, you don't have to post in it. But if you want to keep looking like a pretentious prick, then be my guest. I haven't had some good entertainment in awhile.

Well I respect your opinion and all, but it's more a matter of what Goth is and what it isn't. It's finite. Goth has a definition. Beyond that definition there is plenty of room for interpretation and opinions as I explained in the OP, but there's goth and then there's not goth.

Of the bands you posted of this genre, I really adore The Cure. Robert Smith is so effin' awesome. There is nothing really somber about their music though.

I enjoyed reading what you wrote!!! Packs truth I always wanted to know and be sure...

Hell, you forgot to add that Aggrotech gets confused for goth, same for Doomcore and Dark Pop!!!! Oh my god...

While I LOVE (and I mean it, I LOVE anything Industrial and Industrial-related) Aggro-tech, it isn't goth AT ALL!!! Just because it has pessimistic lyrics, often explicit and dark ones... And such dark sound, doesn't means it is goth -_-

I THANK YOU FOR WRITTING ALL OF THAT!!!
