i found the movie to be rather saddening. it wasn't to the point of me crying. although, i think it was because i was feeling more frustrated because she got engaged to some random guy and because of those g*d-forsaken trains (especially the 2nd one i mean cmon!! wtf is the chance of both passing right after the other!) . i kind of like to focus on the 1st arc because with that one you could at least imagine them working something out. oh well all in all it was a great movie.

I cried a bit nothing dramatic, since the story really speaks of truth of how first loves are to be.

Yeah, I got all weepy at the end. I can relate very well to what Takaki went through. Emotionally, it was a good release for me, too.

The first episode was achingly beautiful. It's the kind of story that really pulls on your heartstrings if you've ever been in a similar long-distance relationship.

While watching the second episode, I kept hoping for a better ending. But the Takaki in this part of the story is quite foolish, moping about the past but not doing anything about it. That boy just acts blind to the rest of the world throughout the entirety of this episode. So, in terms of relationships, we know he's not going anywhere. Having been in his situation, I can forgive his character's actions (or lack thereof). However, one can't help but feel bad for the other girl, Sumida.

It was the song in the third episode that finally got to me. While the melody isn't all that inspiring, lyrically, it was very poetic and nostalgic. The words describe a lot of very familiar, down-to-earth imagery, and evoke emotions with which many of us can empathize. It is, to the very heart of the word, bittersweet.

Anyways. This is getting to be more like a review, but it was nice to let some thoughts out without starting a whole new thread.

Great movie, and very much recommended!

I tried holding my tears in, but it was useless and I'm not one to cry often.

I loved every bit of this movie.

I couldn't watch it here sadly, but it brought me so close to crying more than anything I've seen in a long while. The story was so touching and realistic and that's what makes it so sad at the end, that life can end up like that and we won't always get that happy ending we want but we fight on hoping regardless. I loved this movie
