Okay, basically this thread was inspired by another thread. You can guess which one.

Now, honestly I think people are overly adamant about this. They are too easily offended. I feel that more or less every youth goes through a faze of sexism, especially in Modern America. We’re living in a culture where men are being devalued, and women have already been devalued. Naturally we youths (myself included, as I went through the same faze) don’t have a complete sight of the world. We only know what we experience, and sense we’re all going through that faze it creates a clash between the sexes at our age and thus further exacerbates things.

What I’m saying is that people should relax a bit. Sexism is annoying, but don’t you think it’s a natural part of growing up? I’ve never met somebody who’s 16 or older and has yet to go through such a faze. Calm down, teenagers have their hormones raging and we’re becoming adults. Part of becoming adults is finding out what we stand for right? So we go through these brief fazes which usually blow over. (Usually.)

If my ignorant and narrow minded political point of view from when I was a arrogant 14 year old punk (instead of an arrogant 16 year old punk) still consumed my political point of view then… Well, people here on CR would really hate me. Some already do. (Realizes he just opened himself up) Gawd…

Somebody talked about defending the world against femnazis. Well, while I love that word and may just steal it for use IRL against so called feminist who are really sexist, it was used against a teenager. Honestly, I don’t think fighting a teen over something like that will do much to change the teens mind. It’ll just make them angry and thus increase their obstinacy. Right?

EDIT. xP

I'm a female and I hate feminist movement. o.o I just think it's a waste of time, imo. xP Sure it's great that women have rights, and have jobs, (I'm really glad and happy about that of course.) because people in America are supposedly equal, but I doubt things like sexism is gonna change anytime soon in every situation or in anybody. xP It's just a new thing that has changed, just like racism, some people are still racist in America, and that was like 100 and something years ago that it was over and stuff, rights to females was like around the early 1920's or something, no? So yeah. xP

I'll admit, I have used seist jokes more than once to get laughs, but i don't focus on just one gender, I can make fun of males just as much as females. I really don't care about this whole feminism wave sweeping through, all this equal rights and equal opportunities stuff. If you are good enough, you will get the job/position/etc. What really pisses me off is when feminists start trying to push their beliefs onto you (this also goes with organized religions, and a lot of other things). If i really do become a feminst, it will happen because of soe profound experience, not the bs that they are spewing out.

Basically, as long as feminsts keep it to themselves i dont mind.

edit: one thing i really do hate about the feminism movement is the emphasis on wearing pants. Bring back the skirts! I want to see some legs!! :P

I hate the pants thing too. I like when girls dress like girls, in skirts and dresses. Just my personal tatste.

Mr. Shroom, I hate people who just like to treat other people like crap. It's the childish bane of intellectuals and unity amongst Humans.

Miss. Hp, I dunno, I think in some cases women are still screwed over from time to time. Though, I honestly think men get a much bigger shaft now-a-days.

^ And thats why you piss the hell out of me jay. There is a difference between socratic argument, and just being a dick. All you were doing was proving to herself that she was right.

But... Discussing on a forum has certain responsibilities. You promise to follow rules and treat each other with civility. The person involved with starting the topic was stated as being "16." I don't believe it has anything to do with the fact of "age phases" (except with Jay, who should still know better). As people unable to control themselves sometimes.

There is sexism in the forums sometimes. I think Feminism has become an excuse to practice sexism. I believe in equal rights, but not the superiority preached now. Well...

It's going to keep being an issue, I just hope all the flaming and bashing is kept to a minimum (Not entirely removed.. that would be boring).

^amen to that.

sexism, racism, communism, etc.isms though we would like to have them disappear..the world just is not perfect. "there's always someone better" as the saying goes, and its true; but people construe that and believe that just because the person better happens to be a man or a woman, its a direct cause of their gender.

as far as TEENAGE sexism goes..like i said, let them rant. it is boring if its completely taken away -_- i was kinda sad that killar locked the other one lol

EDIT again. xP
I know. xP That's why I said sexism isn't gonna change anytime soon. There are still some companies that don't give equal pay to women in this time. xP I'm just saying that I'm not pro feminist movement and just stating something why I don't, so I won't waste posting space. xP xD

EDIT
I agree with red3finition though.

Please tell me you know that feminism is simply the belief that women are equal to men. Pretty please. It's okay to hate the feminist movement, but feminism is different.

The other one got locked... Didn't see that coming.
