I will make a rather bold assumption here, that Rika, Oyashiro-sama, and Bernkastel (Umineko no naku koro ni) are one and the same person.

Before I continue, this is some information on Bernkastel, taken from wikipedia.

Umineko no naku koro ni:

Higurashi no naku koro ni:

Adding to that the fact that the world is reset every single time Rika dies, and that Rika is said to be Oyashiro-sama's reincarnation, I have arrived at the conclusion that Bernkastel is in fact Oyashiro-sama, and Rika is either her reincarnation OR a "clone" created by her.

I assume that the "legend of how Hinamizawa came to be" in the show is true. In which case, Bernkastel was on a "stroll" and had stumbled upon Hinamizawa, or rather, Onigafuchi (as it was called at the time), and had suppressed the parasites in the villagers at the time. This led to them worshipping her as a god.

After some more of Beatrice's "games", she probably got bored again and, to quell her boredom, decided to go to Hinamizawa to "play around with the parasites".

Here, two possiblities emerge. Firstly, Rika could the "reincarnation" of Bernkastel, who had decided to seal away her own memories to have some fun in all that madness. Secondly, Rika could have been a puppet/doll/clone/toy that Bernkastel created (to look like herself). allowing her to watch from the sidelines as everyone died over and over and over (lol).

Of course, all this is just my opinion. It may or may not be what the author had decided, so I don't particularly think that it is a spoiler. Anyway, I would like everyone to share your views with me and discuss this topic. Thanks.

It's only implied that Rika is related to Bernkastel (and that Miyo is related to Lambdadelta).

Fredrika is Rika in a sense. She's the alternate personality created from the time loops. Whenever Rika speaks in that older sounding voice, that's Fredrika. It's explained better in the games.
