Oh just chill and find another place - I did and to be honest, I am having the time of my life there. Its even better than CR to me. This is Shinji's site and there is nothing you can say or do to make him change his mind. Even if every single person on CR signed the petition, nothing would happen - really!!

I only come here for the mini games and if someone sends me a pm - like maybe twice a month.

For everyone of us international users there are at least 2 US or accepted region users who are die hard fans. Let them be ... move on, pal.

I'm Canadian so I guess I'm still heavily in the sphere of American influence. In Canada we don't have a lot of the protectionist laws on films that the Americans do, but the english translated versions of mangas and anime are produced in the US, so in order to appreciate them it is neccessary to support US companies. Even if a company starts off Canadian it is likely that the majority of our market would be American and do to laws concerning businesses it is most profitable to convert to an American business. Especially in a niche market like anime.

I feel bad for people in countries further outside of the Americas because they don't need to have the same restrictions. Though I'd also say I feel much more sympathy towards producers, they produce a product that becomes high in demand and then in is the victim of mass theft. In the end they don't even make profits. I've noticed that even the anime industry in the last year have taken a new tactic to battle this. Since high popularity is now neccessary to continue, they will only post a single season at a time and then wait before producing the next to make sure they haven't been too jipped. Natsume Yuujinchou, is one of those.

Personally I don't really want to pay, but at the same time I know that if I don't, the industry and film I enjoy so much will become low quality, poor productions, just like American entertainment and the whole reality TV, because of cheaper production costs. So ya, it kind of makes the high cost of $50/year seem rather low, or like an investment, be it for those in the Americas or not. I'd like to also say that Japan also holds a lot of the same protectionist laws as the US, and that the policies are in place to protect the industry, without them it would only survive through government endorsement, Imagine anime becoming the North Korea of entertainment, so please support Shinji and CR whether you're American or not as a means to preserve and make prosperous the industry that gives us so much joy! .

The international restrictions is something that the crunchyroll is trying to work on. You have to remember that the regional restriction are being placed by the partners, thus it will be the partners who will have to decide to unblock the viewing of the shows in certain regions. Thus a petition to Shinji will not do any good.

I don't care what crunchyroll's future becomes but I don't think you should have a twig up your rear about the situation. Reason why you can't see videos in certain regions is due to licensing parameters nothing more. Once(if) the parameters can be lifted you will be able to freely access the content.

How ever those whom purchased the Anime Membership and cant see the content due to region restriction should request their money back and Shinji should honor that. But it also takes money to influence the ability to get more regions so my advice is if your not happy then just do whats above. If you are happy just slightly POed then just wait and see what happens.
