Just rice? Do you make sticky/steamed rice (gohan)? What sort of rice cooker do you use or are you skilled enough to do it on the stove? I've never tried to make sticky/steamed rice on the stove because I've heard how difficult it can be.

You should buy some nori to eat with your rice or get some furikake. I prefer the noritama (looks like this) but there are so many others to try. I started there and then my motivation to learn more took over.

I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience. Hopefully you can overcome that fear of another fire and start to cook again. Perhaps an electric stove would be better?

Egg fried rice, scrambled eggs, omelette, spaghetti bolognese (minus the meat), jaffa cakes (from the packet :P) & vegetables stir-fried in black bean sauce.

I'm not much of a cook lol, that is pretty much all that I can cook, apart from things that you just heat up in a microwave oven or cooker, or add boiling water to.

i really don't know what kind it is, i mean the rice cooker, but my mom bought it at a Korean store nearby. so i guess you can call it a Korean rice cooker?
my grandma taught me how to cook rice on the stove... it's not that hard, but i'd rather use the rice cooker.
lol. thanks for your suggestions.. i gotta find those at Mitsuwa btw, you should learn how to make different kinds of sushi because you seem to like food a lot and you're that interested in Japanese culture.

haha I have a rice cooker too from a Korean store
Um, I like making things from scratch, just tossing things together...like if there's some pasta, I'll make my own sauce.
It's very fun.
