of course =P i have spoken to God many many times. i pray to Him quite often =) and He answers me. not with Words that can be heard in this world filled with noise, but in a sense, you could say His voice is in the Silence. you can only hear Him if you truely want to listen. it is kinda hard to explain, but i'm not claiming to be a prophet or whatever, cuz i could see how people could easily take this the wrong way. Have you ever asked yourself if certain things happen for a reason? Maybe God is trying to say something to you too. i still have the feeling that i'm going to get alot of angry messeges for saying this, but please, before you do, i ask that you simply watch this video and listen

and no, in case you are wondering, i do not expect you to take a 16 year old kid, such as myself, seriously

WOW!! your talkin about God ... ridiculously way off topic dude and the video really nice just as its title say its NOISE ... sorry am an athiest and a realist ... you might want to read again my post and get my point ... if not well youll know it someday when your older kid.

well, it is pretty much about money. would you take the bet? would you throw away 15 years of your life for any amount of money? of course, it goes deeper than just that, but it is not something that i should ruin for you =P why not read over the letter that the young lawyer wrote again?

Though I said it was long, I've read it that's why I want to know what it really means

well i think the most important part is this one:

"And I despise your books, I despise wisdom and the blessings of this world. It is all worthless, fleeting, illusory, and deceptive, like a mirage. You may be proud, wise, and fine, but death will wipe you off the face of the earth as though you were no more than mice burrowing under the floor, and your posterity, your history, your immortal geniuses will burn or freeze together with the earthly globe.
"You have lost your reason and taken the wrong path. You have taken lies for truth, and hideousness for beauty. You would marvel if, owing to strange events of some sorts, frogs and lizards suddenly grew on apple and orange trees instead of fruit, or if roses began to smell like a sweating horse; so I marvel at you who exchange heaven for earth. I don't want to understand you.
"To prove to you in action how I despise all that you live by, I renounce the two million of which I once dreamed as of paradise and which now I despise. To deprive myself of the right to the money I shall go out from here five hours before the time fixed, and so break the compact ..."

it's ironic. he, just like many people today, loved money. but the years in confinement made him realize how worthless money really is. in my opinion, he came to realize there is a God, but if you aren't religious, you could look at it as living life being more important that selling it for money, just as so many people do for their demanding jobs

lol sry i just jumped at the opportunity when u mentioned God. if you are reffering to your examples, then i don't quite see how they could prove that you can't learn "everything" from books. the examples that you gave were about doing, not about "knowing". for example, i may not have been in Nazi Germany during Hitler's time, but i know of the hollocaust and what it would have been like to be there through the books that i have read.
