In my opinion eng dubbed versions ruin the anime, the japanese bring so much more emotion and also humor in it, it has come so far that if there is a very wicked anime i encounter and its a dubbed version, there is no chance i'll watch it

A very long time ago, almost a hundred years ago, when our grand parents were still young, America had a great venue for Voice Actors. It was called Radio. They did Drama and game shows all the time and did it without Pictures. That came later when they invented television.

The Famous Martian Invasion of the War of the Worlds was done completely on the Radio and people listening got in their cars and drove to the places the story mentioned just to see if it was really happening.

Good voice actors are just as rare as any other high quality performing artist. Americans are spoiled by big sceen productions of movies and TV shows, we expect and get bigger and better special effects. And we get bored easily when we don't get these things.

I agree, the english voice actors just aren't capable. They are not able to adjust their voices to their characters or the situations their characters are in. Furthermore, I just dislike the fact that the english voice of Naruto kept saying "Believe it!" at the end of every sentence -.-'

yup lik when it's a sad part the english actors can't cry.

Mostly in japanese with subtitles, but if I can't find the raw version with subs than i just watch the one in english (it happens that is easier for old series to be found in english, and not in the original language with subs -_______-"), but personally i don't like dubs so much. With "western" voices the whole character can change totally, or at least give a different feeling. Thinking about Miwako from Paradise Kiss for example... it's too bad in english!!

For the most part I watch all Dvds in Japanese with subs on only. The actors are the characters in my opinion for the most part and I really want to hear 'Belldandy's voice' (Kikuko Inoue) not the english dubbers voice, for example. But, after going through the whole series I just bought in Japanese I do re-watch it in the English Dub. It all depends I guess on how much time I got to sit in front of the TV too.

This week I got my Gundam Seed (season 1) entire series in and am watching it at the moment with English Dub because its mostly the Inuyasha english voice actors and they did a really good job as far as I can tell. It was a all star cast for the Gundam Seed in Japan when it was done so I do want to hear Rie Tanaka's voice.
