I don't think Alicia Keys is black. She's Irish-Italian kind of mixed with Jamaican.
I dunno if that is black, but she is not black. NO offense but I don't really know if she's black or not.
But all I know is that she is really pretty. No homo either. I like Alicia keys songs, and
I TRIED really HARD to like SNSD but I can't really like them. I really tried.
No offense. I tried liking them but I just can't. I have never heard any thing so bad or
anything like them saying bad things, although, I don't really know.
I never thought that they were really racist. I try my best to like them but there's one thing
now that is keeping me from liking them. They say that she is racist.
Now I don't think I will be able to like SNSD anymore.

In a recent Chinchin radio broadcast, SNSD "leader" Kim Taeyeon started a discussion with co-host DJ, Kangin about her recent hospital visit.

Apparently, a nurse "refused" to give her an IV shot which in turn had her ranting about it during the live broadcast with such phrases as "But, if that person is a nurse and if it's really bad then she could just give a shot while I'm laying down" and "I'm not letting sick people go to that hospital". She also kindly apologized by saying, "Fine fine. I get it with all the messages. It's my fault for being sick, I'm SORRY." After of course the message boards being bombarded with complaints by Doctors and Nurses.

And to make matters worst, after an Alicia Keys song was played, Taeyeon actually said this about the acclaimed RnB singer:

"For a black person she's really pretty"

You know I really TRY hard to like SNSD but I dont know what comes out of these girls mouths. And Alicia Keys is more talented and prettier then her and she didnt even have to get surgery.

so the whole point in this (I feel like i'm my english teacher that's very bad) is that she meant in a non-racist comment and she didn't think before speaking. everyone does that even me and you.

hmm i dunno about u guys but i myself cannot brand her as a racist..she did say something racist of course but i dunno if i can go as far as to labelling her such...this is the first racist comment ive heard (and probably for the most of us) from her. And perhaps shes said similar things amongst her friends, behind closed doors but what do i know?

Yes I agree,as much as I didnt like what she said I dont see her as a racist and thats why I put a ? at the end. But if she keeps this up,I dont think the question mark would be their next time.

Totally. I mean, come one, it's a radio show and DJs can't possibly think EACH sentence over carefully before they say it. Also, as far as racist comments go, I don't think what she said was that racist. She meant it as a COMPLIMENT, and since Koreans don't usually see many black people, it's natural that they don't know how 'pretty' is defined by black people's terms.

as much as i dislike SNSD i must say that she probably didn't mean it like that

it's a radio show, every DJ/host has probably said an offensive/controversial comment on air

she probably meant it as a compliment, just a wrong choice of words *just like the Koda Kumi incident*

Yup ur right.well Im black *points to avi* and i was offended by that comment, it was just pure ignorance but i cant call her racist..i dunno that much about her..itd be stupid and unfair if i did. You just read my mind lol i was just thinking about how it was a good idea to put the "?" cuz it sorta shows an openness to discussion from both sides (SNSD/whoever defends them and Blacks/and whoever else was offended and neutrals)..and it helps keeps out silly people who blow things out of proportion and those that say "Oh well who cares..everyones a little racist <___<" *rolls eyes*
