In the Taiwanese dramas, do the actors and actresses look their age? Come on, Wu Chun looks 21 though he's actually 29. I agree that they age slowly and they can play someone in high school or college.

Seriously, does he look like he's about to turn 30?

TAIWAN: whoa..they don't care about the age I guess..older stars that aged 26 up still plays the role of a highschool..Wu chun?Jerry Yan, barbie xu...etc..

i'm not a big fan of twdramas, but if you've noticed:
when they remake a manga into live action (ex. meteor garden), they change the high school setting into a university setting.

i think it's because they think the stuff that happens in the stories are too much for high school students? and also, so the actors dont seem too out of place (ie. old).

I remember just now..about Rainie, the gal in 'the devil beside me' from Taiwan, I thought she's as old as barbie xu because they were bestfriends in 'meteor garden'..yet she was only 16 that time while barbie was like 26?but in the drama, they played like they were classmates..

I agree with the loveteam part of Filipinos. I mean, BeaxJohnLloyd? KCxRichard? ShainaxRayver? KIMxGERALD??? In the Philippines, If the drama finished and the loveteam is sooo popular to the audience, they will again make another one with the same loveteam... Totally true. It's practically a one out of a thousand chance that Jun Matsumoto and Inoue Mao would be paired again considering they're such a popular loveteam.

Taiwan seems to have the largest age range for their leads, everything from 15 to 30-something in the ones I've seen. Casting depends on popularity rather than anything else.

Japanese
I'm quite impressed that the likes of Yamapi, Jun M, Jin, Hideaki Takizawa who started their showbiz career so young, until now that they are in their 20's they are still very much loved. Not to mention, they are still very much active in the industry. I say this because here in the Philippines, our young/child stars, once they pass their 10's find it hard to get back to the spotlight. There are some though who still managed to be given some projects but not as lead; comparing our then-child-actors to the then-child-actors of japan you'll quite see the difference.

Korean
I find it funny that that koreans and , ionno some non koreans maybe, love tracing the roots of their stars...like how they look like when they were younger...you know what im saying...they're so into this natural beauty vs. artificial thank you doctor beauty. They are so keen, whether one actress had her nose done...how many times...plus they say an actress is pretty by the size of her face...apparently if her face measures 12 inches below...well she's an automatic beauty!

Taiwanese
I so agree with the older adults playing tweetum roles...like they have this fountain of youth kinna thing going on..like they're forever highschool students in love! also i find it interesting how colorful they are...like they love wearing dress in loud colors. also i noticed that almost all their stars sing...like their actor/singer-performer...one package indeed!

Philippines
....as i always say it's as if everyone here are vindictive...bunch of murderers! I can only but count in my fingers the number of drama series that didnt involve killing someone.
